Move over Stewart, Colbert, Allen, and other comics...
THIS comic has you all beat, with the best laugh of the year:

Condi uses Civil War to slap Iraq critics

Secretary of State Rice compared the Iraq war with the American Civil War, telling a magazine that slavery might have lasted longer in this country if the North had decided to end the fight early.
"I'm sure there are people who thought it was a mistake to fight the Civil War to its end and to insist that the emancipation of slaves would hold," Rice said in the new issue of Essence magazine.

"I know there were people who said, 'Why don't we get out of this now, take a peace with the South, but leave the South with slaves?'" Rice said.

Rice also bristled at the notion that the Bush administration's slow response last year in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina was because of the race of the majority of the victims.

(snip)

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/wn_report/story/449471p-378328c.html

In spite of her vaunted education and credentials, it appears that Miz Rice did not study U.S. history past 1950: she seems to have forgotten about Viet Nam--surely the most apt comparison to the Iraq debacle. I wonder what Senatorial candidate George "Macaca" Allen (the southern gentleman from California) would make of her ignorant comments here. Whatever response he might have, it would be sure to rival Saturday Night Live for humor value.

Her comments regarding Katrina: "The government did its best. People aren't perfect, and this response was not perfect. You know, I do foreign policy, I don't run Homeland Security. I don't run FEMA. I do foreign policy."

I "do" foreign policy. Wow. Now that's a real intellectual.

Not to mention it's probably not the smartest thing, when your administration is desperately trying to play down the notion of an active civil war in Iraq, to compare things there to OUR civil war!

She's dumber than a suitcase full of rocks!:dunce:

3. Those noble Republiclowns!
It is amazing that this Country has ever been able to get anywhere at all having to rely on us appeasing, sympathizing, no big picture seeing, Cut and runners fighting all it's wars while the brilliant folks who knew best (while occasionally trading with the enemy, having other priorities when their turn came to fight, using privilege to avoid serving-all those uber patriots who now tell us how low we are) had to deal with leading us incompetent fools.

5. I dream that Monte Python will one day parody these fools
It would be such sweet therapy to watch.

The neo-cons are getting desperate. They have taken to insulting the American voters by calling them Confederates, appeasers, Nazi sympathizers. Where do you go from there?

I do fear a little bit just what they will resort to in order to win.

6. Thanks Condi, and please keep talking
For some unfathomable reason this pitiful definition of Peter Principle has good ratings with the public. A little more idiocy like this and she'll be hanging in the teens with Dickie boy.

It's precious that Auntie Thomasina here is playing the race card, too! She's a regular OJ; live white, go ghetto for support.

8. But to be perfectly fair . . .
She was promoted FROM a level of her own incompetance, which makes her Peter Principled to the Second Power, PP squared. That is why the dictionary definition says 1) the theory that all members of an organization will eventually be promoted to a level at which they are no longer competent to do their job; 2) If it occurs twice, see Condaleeza Rice.

Would I make that up?
