Bush invokes Hitler
He's speaking to the Military Officers Association of America this morning.

Speech transcript: Terror terror terror

Side note: early in the speech he noted that people in the 1930s failed to oppose a 'failed painter'. In the next sentence, he named 'Adolph Hitler'.

I will resist the comparison to a 'failed oil company owner' and a 'failed baseball team owner'.

This shit's gotta be stopped dead in its tracks.

1. Bush and the GOP are invoking Hitler so others won't use it against them.
It's another one of Hitler's ploys they're using to convince the sheeple that they are being protected by the GOP, and those awful Dems will have car bombs blowing up in Manhattan within days of taking over.

In short, it's all bullshit. But we already know that. Too bad the Kool-Aid drinkers and their kind don't understand as well.

2. How do we stop it?
It's everywhere on other forums, calling people nazi's. Either they know what bushco is, or they are so damn dumb they have swallowed all the hype. Fear is the buzzword, and the wingers are playing it for all it's worth.

5. The parallels between 'the terrorists' and Hitler are weak at best.
The parallels between bushco and Hitler are striking.

6. I think

there's some Evil Boogieman Fatigue setting in among Republicans. So Dubya has to pound on the usual buttons really hard.

7. In 70 years, it will be noted that we (initially) failed to stop a drunken
coked out fratboy.

But we will, we will. He is not as grand and powerful as he thinks.

Sieg heil, motherfucker.

8. Um... why should you resist the comparison? I see no good reason to
resist it, at all.

Let 'er rip, as far as I'm concerned. It would not only demonstrate rawther loudly what he's trying to do in a sneaky, under-the-radar fashion, AS WELL AS turning the ol' "taste of their own medicine" treatment back on him, as he deserves. As ALL of his henchmen/women deserve.

As far as I'm concerned, WHATEVER they dish out at us, they should be prepared to get back, with gusto.

9. Mary, my fear is that the best of our national spokespeople will avoid
these comparisons for fear of getting blasted back by the RW thugs, liars, camp followers, and shriek monkeys.

I agree whole heartedly that we SHOULD be making the comparisons. After all, it is clear to EVERYONE who invoked Hitler first.

Sadly, I don't think we'll ever hear that.
