Their latest angle - War opponents like Civil War slavery supporters!
Edited on Tue Sep-05-06 12:18 PM by El Fuego
Wow! The administration is now offering a variety of nonsensical historical analogies! Just pick your flavor!

"Condi uses Civil War to slap Iraq critics"
New York Daily News

Secretary of State Rice compared the Iraq war with the American Civil War, telling a magazine that slavery might have lasted longer in this country if the North had decided to end the fight early.
"I'm sure there are people who thought it was a mistake to fight the Civil War to its end and to insist that the emancipation of slaves would hold," Rice said in the new issue of Essence magazine.

"I know there were people who said, 'Why don't we get out of this now, take a peace with the South, but leave the South with slaves?'" Rice said.

What will the Absurd Metaphor of the Month be next? "What if the barbarian hordes gave up on sacking ancient Rome? We'd still be feeding Christians to the lions!"

1. So they're sacrificing their rebel base in the South??
We should step away and just let the GOP self-destruct on this one...save their quotes to use against them in future debates.

On another front, how are they gonna spin the re-appointment of Bolton? Condi ought to get busy on that losing battle....

On edit: Hey Condi - you make it sound like slavery is gone in this country.

Hey call them slavery proponents and try to wedge out blacks
from the Democratic coalition. Last week they were working on splitting off the Jews. Next week? Well of course, we will be supporters of Castro to wedge off Hispanics of Carribean origin, the week after that they've penciled in supporters of Maximillian, and the week after that, advocates of Native American genocide and supporters of the Massacre at Wounded Knee.

The strategy is pretty plain. Cheer up the terror wars and break-up the Dems.
