Anyone know what's going on in Maine?
As many of you know, there is an election in Maine on Sunday. Does anyone know what's going on there? Are there ads running? What's the word on the street? Any news or polls? Thanks

1. here's an article I read this am
http://www.seacoastonline.com/news/02062004/news/74445.htm

<<Bauer, the Kucinich campaign’s co-coordinator, said Maine is one of the most important states for the campaign.

"The Kucinich campaign has suffered from invisibility, so we’re building its recognition, piece by piece, and caucus by caucus," she said. "Maine is a very liberal and independent state. ... The campaign is counting on Maine to break (into the) double digits. And it’s very likely we’ll be in the top three."

Bauer said just under 1,000 Mainers have volunteered for the campaign - a significant number, she said, in a state where caucus attendance has topped out at less that 4,000 in past years. >>

That's a lot of support for DK. :)

2. Maine has caucuses on Sunday.
John Kerry was here yesterday. I heard that Kucinich will be here on Sunday and possibly Dean.

I don't have local television so I don't know about ads.

The only campaign that I've received a call from has been Kerry's.

The Governor and former Senator George Mitchell endorsed Kerry yesterday.

It looks like a Kerry win but I expect Kucinich to have a better representation here than in previous states.

I also expect attendance will be better than expected. Over 4000 absentee votes have been cast.
