Next steps for Bob Casey in the Pennsylvania Senate Race....
Edited on Sun Sep-03-06 12:44 PM by BurgherHoldtheLies
First of all, when anyone, especially pRick Santorum tells you what YOUR father would think about you, remind him that, not only did he not know your late father, but as his son you can guarantee that he would NEVER want pRick Santorum speaking for him.

Secondly, prepare for the immediate release of 2 new ads:

One using a duplicate of Santorum's attack ad from his first campaign (Doug Walgren's house) but instead showing Santorum's tiny residence in Penn Hills vs. his McMansion in VA asking which home is most likely the residence of a family of 8 where the father has voted himself pay raises as a US Senator. Many regular families travel for their jobs and would love to have all that extra time with their kids too but Santorum feels he's entitled to it as a Senator.

The second ad should play off Santorum's recent Pennsylvania Polka ad except drive home the point that Santorum traded the PA Polka for the Virginia Reel years ago

Also, repeat, repeat and repeat the 98% voting record (aka rubber stamp) that Santorum has with the Bush admin.

It also would not hurt to remind PA voters that Santorum made time to go to Florida to interject himself into the family matter of Terri Schiavo and voted AGAINST the legal rights of a husband in re: to a wife. Oh, and he managed to attend a fundraiser for himself during that "tragic crisis".

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The TV ads for Santorum have been playing nonstop in Allegheny County for about a month now. I've seen a couple Casey ads in the past week. Don't play some genteel game of politics here in PA...Santorum will play dirty, guaranteed. Roll up your sleeves and get slinging.
1. Make Bush and Santorum look like siamese twins in every ad.
Santorum is absolutely disgusting. Casey must go for the jugular.
2. casey might consider
running some old campaign ads that his father ran intertwined at what it means to be proud of one's son and proud of one's family and the legacy of service to Pennsylvanians by a proud family.
Obviously digging up dead relatives of opponents excites santorum's religiously insane base, otherwise he would not have done it.
4. That could be, or...
My thought was that he was trying to get Casey to lose his cool. Santorum seemed practically hysterical at some points, while Casey was remarkably rational in contrast. So I thought he was trying to push Casey's buttons, and steer the topic to some contrast between Casey and his father.
I'm glad Casey didn't take the bait. It hung in the air as a noxious remark from Santorum.
3. Casey needs to fight in the same way that Rick does, "dirty"!
