Many workers don't feel like celebrating their own holiday
They are too tired. They work harder than ever before. They get further behind. They just want a day off to rest. That is their reward.

Labor Day is less celebrated than President's Day or just about any other holiday on the calendar, it seems to me. The media skims over the contributions of labor in this country. Labor may as well not exist - even though this country would not exist without labor. Labor Day is the Rodney Dangerfield of national holidays - they get no respect.

2. Expect it to be full of stories about women IN labor.
You know, ploppin' out future soldiers - oops, I mean "cherished babies because we are a proud and noble culture of life."

4. Organized Labor is disappearing fast
and that trend needs to be reversed. We need decently paid blue collar workers in this country. We are the backbone of this once great land. As you can probably tell, I am a proud Labor Union member. Thanks for a good post.
