Mitt Romney: Stem Cell Research 'Orwellian'
"BOSTON (Reuters) - Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a 2008 Republican presidential hopeful, said on Thursday his administration's new restrictions on stem cell research are aimed at heading off an "Orwellian" future. "
...
""I believe it crosses a very bright moral line to take sperm and eggs in the laboratory and start creating human life," Romney told reporters. "It is Orwellian in its scope. In laboratories you could have trays of new embryos being created.""

No mention in the article that Romney is confusing Aldous Huxley with George Orwell...

1. It won't work Mitt.
The Christian Coalition crowd still won't embrace you because they think you aren't Christian. You will be a victim of the prejudices of the conservative movement to which you seek to belong. The same prejudices you manipulate with the gay-marriage issue. How ironic.

2. Mr Orwell was more than likely
to be speaking of Republicans
and their dark vision of
an America without a constitution.

3. I would have described it as Huxleyan,
if I were in the mood to use an eponymous adjective.

Perhaps Zamyatinian.

But certainly not Orwellian.

Romney must be mistaking 1984 with Brave New World.

It's quite apparent that when one becomes a Republican,
they're not supposed to read books anymore... either that
or they're just damn fools to begin with... like Mitt.

Hmmm.. is it Kafkaesque yet??

"I believe it crosses a very bright moral line to take sperm and eggs in the laboratory and start creating human life."

5. So Romney is the great white hope of fascist RW. What a genius...

He doesn't even know the difference between
in vetero fertilization and stem cell research.

Finally the RW has found someone more stupid
than Bush. He beats Ashcroft, Frist, Santorum
and Allen.

That is high quality, premium stupid.
