Bush spends another $20 million to control media in Iraq ...go figure
Edited on Fri Sep-01-06 08:29 AM by NVMojo

Snip from Washington Post story:
U.S. military leaders in Baghdad have put out for bid a two-year, $20 million public relations contract that calls for extensive monitoring of U.S. and Middle Eastern media in an effort to promote more positive coverage of news from Iraq.

The contract calls for assembling a database of selected news stories and assessing their tone as part of a program to provide "public relations products" that would improve coverage of the military command's performance, according to a statement of work attached to the proposal.

4. Flat Leader Program
The white house has revealed the flat leader program. A cardboard cutout of leaders placed in war zones to raise moral of soldiers.

I remember seeing a speech by Bush with the audience in the background. I was watching the audience and noticed that no one in the first three rows moved at all during his speech. Above the first three rows there was a railing and those people sitting above that area were moving as normal, coughing, scratching , blinking, smiling, etc. It appeared to me that those first three rows may have been a photo. This would certainly improve the appearance of a larger audience. Since all of audiences are pre-chosen why not use them over and over again.

This must be a much cheaper use of marketing tools to stretch those PR funds. It also guanantees that some of those attending will have a known attitude toward the speech.

Bush has already said that he is simply a "marketing creation." Now it is being revealed.

:sarcasm:

good thing we have a responsible media on this side of the pond who'll throw this back in his face whenever he mentions the free press in Eye-Rack.
