1. Yep, and even in that they were fooled.

Those conservatives who backed it on the grounds that "we" would be getting more cheap oil out of it were just as fooled as anybody. They weren't fighting for the interests of Americans and their gas costs, they were fighting for the benifit of the elite that's why oil costs are through the roof.

2. .
I already met some who argue that it's actually good that the US controls the oil instead of Saddam.

Twice.

4. They weren't fooled. They knew it was about oil.
Hence the proliferation of "Kick their ass and take their gas" bumper stickers. They're just outraged now that cheap fillups didn't come to pass as promised.

6. question
Well, we sure as hell didn't get any cheap oil out of this fiasco.

All we got is a chance to show big oil just how DOCILE and SUBSERVIENT we really are. Yeah, martial law is no biggie, just as long as we can keep shopping!

And my question is: If the current situation is going "according to plan", who's "plan" are we currently experiencing?

Seems like the only folks that benefit are big defense corporations and the military-industrial-congressional complex? Are they really both this greedy and this heartless to sacrifice the good of the many for the obscene greed of the few?

In other words, was this the desired outcome to whatever "plan" these people may have hatched and who is benefiting enough to make wrecking America worthwhile?

8. If we ever find out exactly who was in Cheney's energy policy meetings
we'll know exactly who's plan this is. But it's pretty obvious who's benefiting. The Texas oil companies. Hmmm...could the disruption of the mideast oil supply have been PLANNED? Sure looks that way. All that cheap oil depressing those poor old Texas oilmen's profits - poof! Coinkidink .... or not?

9. The American Conservative magazine is not with the neocons
It has true, educated conservatives. They've always realized the neocons are a sham.

11. This really is true, and there..........
.....are so few "normal" conservatives or for that matter "normal" Republicans. And I have been around long enough to remember those kind. The scary part is that so many of the "babyboomers" who used to know better, are buying into this "BUSH CRAP" and don't even realize the difference!

10. But Do Republican Conservatives Read It?
But do today's Republican conservatives even read American Conservative, or are they too inclined to follow the flock and let the alpha rams follow the lead of PNAC or RNC shepherds?

My fear is that too many right-wing conservatives still think that the GOP is still looking after their interests--which works fine for some, but only in that wealthiest ten percentile of the American population.
