Bush in Salt Lake City: "WE'VE stopped a terror plot against the U.S..."
Nice to see that Junior's not shy about taking credit, even when credit is not due...

Bush begins new push to shore up fight on terrorism, Iraq

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (CNN) -- With midterm elections around the corner, President Bush on Thursday will launch a series of speeches aimed at bolstering support for what the White House calls the "single ideological struggle" against terrorism, including the increasingly unpopular Iraq war.

Upon arriving Wednesday evening in Salt Lake City in preparation for his address to a veterans group, Bush said the United States has to remain vigilant against "an enemy that wants to harm" the country.

"These are challenging times," Bush told a crowd at the Utah capital's airport. "We learned that lesson earlier this month, and because of our friends in Great Britain, we've stopped a terror plot against the United States."

Bush also said his most important duty is to protect Americans from further attacks, stressing the way to do so is to "defeat the terrorists abroad so we do not have to face them here at home." Part of this offensive includes remaining in Iraq, he said, arguing that pulling out of Baghdad would bring the war to "our own cities."

8. During the 2004 election...
...SOMEONE on a cable news show (wish I could remember who) made a statement that went something like this:

"Everybody knew someone like George W. Bush when they were growing up, and they DID NOT LIKE THAT PERSON."

I went to Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton CA, where you will find one of the greatest concentrations of Bush's beloved "have mores" in the Unites States. There was no shortage of spoiled, silver-spoon frat boy trust fund pricks in that school. Any one of them could have grown up to be George Bush (or Ken Lay, or Dennis Kozlowski, or...)

:patriot:

5. Wow, Karl showing off his graphic abilities!
Nice signs, Mr. Rove!

They look a little outlandish in this day and age (people like Bush, let alone "love" him?), but they're fantastically limitless, overbearing, and hyperexaggerated.. and there's not one but TWO of 'em! Great work.

7. Pretty magnanimous of Chimpy
Usually, he talks about "I, I, I," "my government," "my program" and everything else in the first person. How nice of him to share the credit for this dubious achievement with the folks who actually accomplished it.
