This morning, we saw on MSNBC, a piece with him 'debating' Barry McCaffrey about the twin speeches of Cheney and Rumsfeld yesterday. No doubt they'll play this again and again through the day.

No matter.

What stuck me was the new intro they used for old Frank. He is, once again, 'Secretary Gaffney'. (He once served as St. Ronnie's Assistant SecDef and a signatory of the original PNAC stuff.)

"Secretary Gaffney", huh? Are we trying for more gravitas? Why are we getting away from the warmer, softer, fuzzier, plain old "Frank Gaffney"?

Coupled with the speeches yesterday comparing the times to the rise of Nazi Germany (as if, were that, in fact, the case, the irony has been lost on them), I see this as one more example of them trying to put the shine back on the 'all war all the time' political frame.

They got nothin'. Not a damn thing. Outta gas.
