Did any TV today mention that 25 Dem congressmen are visiting....
areas hit by Katrina? I know I heard one congressman on AAR talking about it. I know the DNC has had big blog write-ups all day about how Bush failed the victims of Katrina.

I have not seen much on TV about it. Did I miss it? This is part of a Democratic project, and I haven't seen anything on national TV.

I have seen some posts here blasting Democrats for not pointing out the bad job Bush did there. Those posts blew my mind, and want to yell pay attention.

1. I was hoping that when bush got down there, that there would be
massive protests and outraged citizens, maybe verbal abuse and pie throwing.

Democrats, Bush make anniversary visits to Gulf Coast
BECKY BOHRER
Associated Press
NEW ORLEANS - As the first anniversary of Hurricane Katrina neared, House Democrats toured devastated areas of New Orleans on Monday and decried the slow pace of recovery, while President Bush began a two-day visit to the region.

"I think the American public is going to be very, very surprised to know this recovery is way, way behind what their expectations would have been," Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C., said during a tour that took more than a dozen Democratic members of Congress through the Ninth Ward, to the site of a levee breach and to the former downtown department store that now houses a clinic from the flooded-out Charity Hospital.

3. This guy Abercrombie was either on with Sam or Mike on AAR

We had someone working here, and I was listening. I just let the two run together and can't remember.

He is in New Orleans today, I think.

6. Yeah, and they all got up during the memorial service and left
One of the announcers of the service thanked them all for coming, and said that they had to leave for some reason, didn't catch why. I was watching the service on C-SPAN this afternoon......I thought that was rather odd.

"USA Today, AP ignored Democratic critics in coverage of Bush's visit to Gulf Coast
Summary: USA Today and the Associated Press reported that Bush had "highlight rebuilding efforts" following Hurricane Katrina and "praised the region's rebirth," but neither outlet noted any criticism of the Bush administration's handling of the reconstruction process, despite two reports by congressional Democrats in the past week detailing the "failed Republican response."
In their August 29 coverage of President Bush's trip to the Gulf Coast on the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, USA Today noted that Bush had "praised the region's rebirth" and the Associated Press reported that he had "highlight rebuilding efforts." But neither outlet noted any Democratic criticism of the Bush administration's handling of the reconstruction process, despite two reports by congressional Democrats in the past week detailing what they characterized as the "failed Republican response" in the year since Katrina hit.

Further, an August 29 article by New York Times reporter Anne E. Kornblut reported that "oth the White House and Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill issued 'fact sheets' with competing assertions about the rate of progress," but did not lay out the specific claims, much less provide any analysis of their merit."
