1. I'd prefer a little lower, but that will do
Just keep it under 40, at a minimum.

Remember that 55 is a bigger number than 39.

2. This one, like Gallup's, seems to be a bit of an outlier...
Most of 'em have Dub at around 34-36% approval. Thanks for letting us know about it, though! :-)

B-)

3. It Will NEVER Go Below 30%
There are too many MORONS in this country, and they will always support him. I'd guess that 30% is about the percentage of citizens with the same IQ.

4. Wasn't Richard Nixon down to 28% approval when he resigned?
...I think Shrub would stay in office even if his approval rating was 0%. He just does not give a shit for the country or anyone other than himself and his base of 480 billionaires

6. His only good media
came from raw fear. I think it is useful despite the history and circumstances to examine that core support. Do all presidents get that from the ignorant unless the press releases pent up disapproval? Clinton being railroaded unsuccessfully might be an exception since at heart the people had good reason not be shaken loose. What reasons keep the Repukes or that small segment of president worshipers unshakable- minus the help of the media one way or the other?

Rotten apples or loyal republicans? Presidential royalists and myth adherents. The invincibly ignorant.
#8% is still embarrassingly huge but I suspect it is the prominence of propping media. Ten more per cent might easily melt or slink away with fair media or some spectacular non-spinnable open scandal(as bad as everything currently is already!). There is the 5% who will vote for the worst choice for any idiotic reason, those who derive personal benefit screw the whole world likely account for the biggest chunk.

When it comes to diehards who are not insane by choice, removing any loyalty or any worth to their personal profit or triumph would do. Bush has thrown billions at such but as trickle down with mind numbing destruction of the nation and environment itself. What good is money then? And then they fear the backlash. And BLAME their greed guy. That is their nature. Bush has abused loyalty by trashing every iota of the party except irrelevant non-functioning cronyism. As with FEMA's Brown, even cronies can be pushed too far. The taste of power alone will make the slimed trickled on down empowered GOP restive, chaotic. They too can turn with typical selfishness against those who have lazily and destructively given everything RW and GOP a terrible shameful name.

Thatcher brought down her Conservatives and she was smarter and tougher than dynasty Bushes. Bush can destroy the entire base down to the pathos of the legendary Mets' fans of old, without anything rational or positive to justify it. Even Nixon still has his fans, and loyalists in spite of it all. With Bush the absolutist they will leave Mr. god to his own without a tear.

Bush's last legacy(curse) will be the shame of not prosecuting the crimes and cleansing the evil precedents if the painful job is abandonned by the people's true reps.

11. With a working media, it would be 25% or so
he's 10 times worse than Nixon.

12. Nixon at least
was and gave the impression of being in charge and having some brains. Any of his conceiveable pluses are
Bush minuses. Bush is left with that pathetic "likeable" legend which has been pretty much blown up. he does not look villainous and shifty, but pitiful and shifty. He makes a natural enemy one can not even been proud to have in any way.

8. This is Rove manipulation...Bush was at 33% 2 wks ago, now 39% creeping up
Edited on Wed Aug-30-06 12:50 PM by GreenTea
to the high 40's by election time? So they can steal it by saying people are supporting Bush again, an excuse the media can use to sell the lie and theft...like they did in 2004 using gay marriage as the lie why Bush "won" to avoid talking about the voting machine thefts??

What has Bush done in two weeks for the polls to bring him up to almost 40%? Nothing!!

It's ALL bullshit, it's all part of Rove's election strategy and the planned Diebold machine theft and the lies that will come afterwards...Just as Bush's every day speeches are part of it coinciding with Rove poll bullshit, Bush's sound bites about Iraq and that Bush believe he has a job to finish and we're going to stay there to we finish it or the terrorist will follow us...This also helps in keeping the fear factor going...Fear, fear and more fear!

Don't underestimate Rove's evil and wickedness...He'll pull out ALL the stops to keep the republicans the majority party (to avoid hearings & possible jail).

9. How is the press going to explain this
When republicans still win most of the seats with diebold. They'll have to put the spin on overdrive to cover that one up.

10. I Was Just Going To Post The Very Same Thing!
Personally, as times goes by, even when we hear some promising news, it always turns back to how ineffective the Democrats are.

I'm not feeling very good about November myself! With people like, Carville, Begala, Emmanuel & Lieberman I don't see Democrats very United in any way. And these people are doing us more harm as the days go by. I just don't understand why Bill Clinton doesn't get up off his butt and DO SOMETHING!!

Maybe I've missed it, but I haven't seen him stumping very much. Oh yeah, I forgot.... he did go to CT to help out The Lie!!!
