Poll question: Will the "Religious Right" turn out for the repukes in 06?
Edited on Mon Aug-28-06 11:05 PM by Skip Intro
You know, the anti-gay, anti-choice, anti-science self-proclaimed deciples of peace & love guru Jesus Christ, who believe God himself appointed georgie to kill off all the evil non-believers world-over while the USA-Kigdom of God-theocracy is established here in the homeland, people.

Will they show up at the polls in droves this November, all rabid about something, as they supposedly did in 04? What do you think will be the triggering bell?

1. A good question. I'm hunching that they will turn out but in smaller
numbers.

Their people are going to get whupped this time.

It's going to be a night of blue balloons on Nov. 7th.

3. Even though most GOP'ers are anything BUT religious!

And most of them will rot in Hell.

5. The majority of Republicans are quite religious. Plenty of data on this...
Perhaps you mean that their religious views differ from yours? Or that they differ from your god's?

Well, see, that's the thing about religion. Given five believers whose god consigns some people to hell, there will be, on average, five different views on who are so damned. They're still all religious.

7. I think John Q. Public bought on to the PERCEPTION that Rthugs..
..are more religious. But that's because Democrats rarely tout, or try to use religion in politics.

Jimmy Carter was a very religious president.

George Bush doesn't go to church, except for photo-op special occassions, but public perception is that he's a very religious born-again Christian.

When that man is finally out of D.C., I'll bet anything he never steps foot in a church again.

Saying that ReTHUGS are "more religious" is more perception than reality. More Rovian brainwashing than truth.

That's all.

10. It may be some Republicans just pretend religiousness....
But on what basis do you claim to know the "true" James Dobsons and Jerry Falwells from the "false" George Bushes?

Tell me the test to perform.

I don't see it.

4. speaking of relig. right, did you read the kath harris interview?
These religious crazies are out there. Look at the questions they asked her and how she answered them. It links from the fifth point in briefs

6. what a laugh that interview is
The part about where she paints Nelson out as more liberal than Kennedy and Schumer is particularly funny.

Then there's the part where they ask her what her faith is and she says "Christian." LOLOL. That's almost as funny as bush calling the Greeks Grecians.

Her answers to questions and her comments are so simplistic. Kinda' reminds me of Ann Coulter.

I had read a clip from that interview, which is why I mentioned kh in the poll, but no, I hadn't read the interview until just now.

I'm speechless.

There's no chance she will win, right?

11. I'm sure they will
They're rabid and zealous enough to go to all lengths to bring us all "into the fold." Since many of us think of the RRR as a cult, they've got their work cut out for them.

14. The evangelical left has strengthened since 2004...
but it's hard to tell where our "base" is. The religious right, on the other hand, is concentrated in a relative few states, and those states are not the battleground for this year's elections. The only election where they could really GOTV and have an effect is Tennessee senate, and that is a vulnerable GOP seat already.

16. Of course they will
They'll buy into the fear mongering that only the GOP can protect them and in the words of dear Katherine Harris, the non Christians (read Democrats :eyes:) will legislate sin.

Most of these people are dumber than a box of hammers. They will do what they are told by Falwell and Robertson and Cheney.

17. I'm afraid they will. The 30% backwash would follow him right over a cliff
just like the brainless lemmings they are. They don't call that bunch his "base" for nothing. And does anyone else find any irony in the fact that Al Qaeda is Arabic for "the base"?
