Allen asked about racial language

<snip>

STAUNTON - A man who identified himself as a law student confronted U.S. Sen. George Allen here today, demanding to know if the potential presidential candidate had ever used the n-word.

Mike Stark, in his early to mid-20s, also asked Allen, R-Va., why he had a Confederate flag and a noose in his office. The News Virginian confirmed that Stark is a first-year law student at the University of Virginia. An Allen aide asked Stark to leave, while a staff person at the Holiday Inn in Staunton also told him to leave the premises.

The man paid $20 to attend a luncheon hosted by the Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce. The man stood with reporters waiting to interview Allen, then fired him questions. “Is this an interview?” Allen asked. “I’ll be glad to talk to you afterwards.”

Allen aide David Nepp, stepped in and asked the man to leave. “Are you with the hotel,” the man asked. A hotel employee asked man to leave. Allen did say before the man left that the Confederate flag was a gift to him. The Republican previously has said the noose represented his tough-on-crime stance and long has been removed from his office.

<snip>

Yeah. Your tough on crime stance. Right.

11. I don't know but Hannity put the photo on his website...........
.....and took a call from Mike on his radio show. You can tell Hannity was trying to be "the better man" but it was quite clear he was pissed.

3. Oh, the Confederate flag's a gift. That makes it alright..
I guess if someone gave Allen a Nazi flag he'd hang that up too. After all, it's a gift.

All this on top of his "macaca" moment. I've already said my bit on that.

4. YES THANK YOU! From a Virginian......
I was so hoping that old story about the noose and flag would have legs. For a while there, it looked like Googy was going to get away with the "I was young and I needed the work" excuse. Thanks, Sid, for shining a spotlight for the team, thereby dredging this all up.

Darn, George, wish ya coulda waited until, say, mid October. That would mos' def be a deal breaker, booboo. Right now, let's hope VA voters have long memories.

:toast:

5. So gratifying that this info is finally out there.
Ryan Lizza of The New Republic deserves a lot of credit for exposing Allen's long racist history last April in his article "Pin Prick." The internet has also been a valuable tool for spreading the word. The corporate whores couldsn't ignore "macaca," but they haven't exactly been forthcoming with Allen's sordid racist history. Now, at events like this, he's finally being called on it and doesn't know how the hell to handle it. About time.
