Would Albert Einstein consider George Bush insane?
"The definition of insanity, is repeating the same behavior, anticipating a different outcome." - Albert Einstein

Isn't that what Bush's redundant "stay the course" rhetoric is? Repeating the same failed policies in Iraq over and over and over again expecting failure to magically morph into victory?

The next time you're accused of advocating "cut and run" by a Republican cutting and pasting the cliche conservative talking point into a debate, just counter that at least you aren't insane.

2. You're assuming Bush wants a different outcome
Bush wants a perpetual military presence in Iraq. They are our colony now, we own them as long as we have guns and breathing uniforms there. He likes the killing and the civil war, because it justifies our presence. He plans to run Iraq the way Britain ran India for so long--establish a government, and control that government through a few well-placed ambassadors. They know what they are doing.

4. However, if you assume that Bush IS getting what he wants...
like, enriching the coffers of corporate cronies, keeping everyone terrorized with the threat of terror, keping Iraqi oil off the market, building a network of permanent bases in Iraq, destroying civil liberties in Amerika, subverting all kinds of public institutions and bending them to his will, and getting to be the Royal PooBah surrounded by ass-kissers and sycophantic heat-stroked joggers, well, then...

he's doing brilliantly.

11. Hmmmm... Bush and reality...
... does the shoe still fit?

We have a detached president who has a reputation of not paying attention to the news much preferring staffers to explain briefing paper summaries. How removed is he from the reality of Iraq? Just "stay the course" because he has a feeling it'll all work out just like he had a feeling Saddam had WMD and he had a feeling he was linked to terrorism. :puke:

10. Einstein thought (or joked?) that Goedel was losing his sanity. . .
when he heard that Goedel voted for Eisenhower.

It's not too hard to imagine what he would think of *.
