This Week's Must-See Video

Here's some video clips which, if you haven't already seen them, are a good way to close out your week. First and foremost, is the beating that Republican, talking-points robot, Van Taylor took on MSNBC's Hardball earlier in the week. Here's a link to my blog entry on it, at which point you can jump to Crooks and Liars and see what happens when you come to a knife fight -- in this case, with Democrat Paul Hackett -- armed with only a toothpick.

Next up is Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean, who was on Hardball Wednesday night and let the world know exactly what he thinks of the GOP bigot of the week, Senator George Felix Allen of Virginia:
Dean: I served with George Allen when he was governor. I don‘t think he belongs in public service, to be honest with you. There are Republicans who are capable and smart, thoughtful people, and he‘s not one of them.

Matthews: You make him sound like a knucklehead. Is that what you think?

Dean: I‘m not going to use those kinds of words.
I'm sure Governor Dean was thinking more "chowderhead" than "knucklehead." Please go to C&L to see an uncommonly-honest assessment of a Republican politician.

Then there's Keith Olbermann on MSNBC's wonderful Countdown narrowing down the nightly "worst person in the world" award to Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh, only to declare the San Francisco Zoo the worst for defiling a young pony by naming him "Coulter," after the beastly right-wing pundit by the same name.

Has anyone called PETA about this? You can see the clip at C&L here.

Finally, we have The Daily Show from Thursday night, with Jon Stewart making delightful fun of GOP prop, Rockey Vaccarella, who showed up at the White House from Louisiana, was given an impromptu meeting with Bush and expressed his concern about slow Katrina relief by saying this:

"If we had this President for another four years, I think we'd be great."

Rockey may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he's clearly confident that, if Bush could be in office for another term, the victims of Katrina might actually get some help by 2012.

You can also see Stewart's funny take on this at Crooks and Liars.
