It's the Hydrocarbons Stupid!
Has anyone of ANY prominence in congress stated the obvious fact that GWB's mission in the middle east is to exploit the natural resources of Iraq and possibly Iran? That's why there are permanent military bases in the region. The PNAC scoundrels think they have the god given right to every drop of oil on this planet. It looks to me that they are willing to further their plans no matter what the cost. There are prominent wingnuts now openly advocating nuclear warfare in the middle east.

Why is it that I have never heard a Democratic leader utter the 'OIL' word when it comes to the war in Iraq? Everyone dances around it, George Bush does not have a plan. How many times have we all heard this one? GEORGE BUSH HAS A FUCKING PLAN. I am certain of that fact. I am also certain that his plan would never be accepted by the American public. Would you sacrifice a loved one so that you can continue to drive that big SUV? With the chinese made yellow support our troops ribbon?

The republicans can only provide slogans and talking points because they can't tell the American people the truth about their real agenda for the middle east, steal the oil!

From Wikipedia

Hydrocarbons are one of Earth's most important natural resources. Hydrocarbons are currently the main source of the world’s electric energy and heat sources (such as home heating) because of the energy produced when burnt. Hydrocarbons are all substances with low entropy (meaning they hold a lot of energy potential), which can be released and harnessed by burning them. Often this energy is used directly as heat such as in home heaters, which use either oil or natural gas. The hydrocarbon is burnt and the heat is used to heat water, which is then circulated in pipes around the building heating every room. A similar principle is used to create electric energy in power plants.

2. At the core..is oil
"As long as we and our allies are dependent on Gulf oil, we can't do anything about the perception that we support Arab tyranny—the Saudis, the Kuwaitis, and other regimes in the region. Without the problem of oil, who cares who rules Saudi Arabia? If we solved the oil problem, we could back away from the contradiction of being democracy promoters and tyranny protectors. We should have started on this back in 1973, at the time of the first Arab oil embargo, but we've never moved away from our dependence. As it stands, we are going to have to fight wars if anything endangers the oil supply in the Middle East".

"What you want with foreign policy is options. Right now we don't have options because our economy and our allies' economies are dependent on Middle East oil. What benefit do we get by letting China commit genocide-by-inundation by moving thousands and thousands of Han Chinese to overcome the dominance of Muslim Uighurs? What do we get out of supporting Putin in Chechnya? He may need to do it to maintain his country, but we don't need to support what looks like a rape, pillage, and kill campaign against Muslims. The other area is Israel and Palestine. We're not going to abandon the Israelis but we need to reestablish the relationship so it looks like we're the great power and they're our ally, and not the other way around. We need to create a situation where moderate Muslims can express support for the United States without being laughed off the block".

3. The real plan is to keep the oil in the ground
That's why Bush I as VP had Reagan and Rummy fund BOTH sides of the Iran-Iraq War and we had the first tripling of the oil price. If Iran and Iraq ever reach full production, oil would be $20 a barrel, as that is equal to a whole other Saudi Arabia coming online.

That whole area has been puttering along in pumping oil since the Khuzestan infrastructure was destroyed by Saddam's invasion in the 80s.

If we invade Iran, or actually Khuzestan alone, it will be to make sure that infrastructure does not get repaired, so that 100 billion barrels is not on the world market, just as Bushco took Iraq from 2.9 million bpd to 1.5 million bpd--and then they let the Shia steal 30% of that!
