Vice President Cheney will be nominated by the RNC
I predict: after all the other republican "Hopefuls" beat each other up Vice President Cheney will emerge as the Republican nominee for president. This will happen at the convention and no-one in the party will stand in his way..

23. Agree 100%
He will be Giuliani's VP. Cheney is not a great campaigner for the swing vote but terrific at $1000/plate dinners.

If we don't do well in Novemember, sometimes I see your idea as our only hope.

6. Well yes, since his approval is in the teens
And it'll get worse as he campaigns. Can you imagine The Dick on the campaign trail?

4. I can't see that happening...
However, look for the neocon with the closest ties to the Bush administration to get the nomination from the Reich wingers in 2008.

7. I'd love to see that grouchy old bastard get the nod
19% won't get him very far.

Plus his ticker would give out in a week if he had to do any hard campaigning.

Sounds like a win-win to me.

8. If he were to get the nomination, expect the polls to suddenly,
mysteriously show growing favorability ratings for Sneer as the 2008 election draws nigh. Then expect a squeaker victory, a replay of what is in the works for this November.

11. huh?
sorry, but biggus dickus is a myth.
he doesn't really exist.
he is a vampire- he crawls out of some bunker once a month, and says something so irrelevant that no-one really listens, except diehard republicans who think their cash is good for buying them a seat of the Bush/Titanic as it sets sail.

my guess is that his unfavorables are somewhere around saddam hussein at this point; it would taked a fix of monumental proportions to get him the nomination and the job.

and i also have to say i doubt the hopefuls will beat the crap out of each other with all that's at stake; they'll settle early on for the power pimp with the least baggage- which rules out Guiliani, Gingrich, Allen...

my guess- McCain, whose baggage is considerably less than the aforementioned; Hegel is also a strong possibility. And look for a minority VP candidate- Watts, or Steele, possibly Balckwell- two white men won't help as the demographics begin to turn a little bluer outside of the south.

Then again, maybe the Republican Party is primed to embrace Allan Keyes.

14. Jeb, I tell you...it's gonna be Jeb....
The current prez has already said, it's only natural that Jeb should be the next prez....I am convinced it will be he...no one else...
of course, I will admit, I could be wrong.....but something just tells me..it's already been decided...only time will tell...

17. Hard core republicans are scared shittless
that it will be McCain. Hagel is too horrible to even be mentioned for them. I can't for the life of me see WHY they don't like McCain. The only difference between him and bush is that Johnny doesn't like torture and he seems to have something going on upstairs. So is the torture the deal breaker or is it having a brain? I think they really want George Allen, well actually they REALLY want Jeb but it's not going to happen in '08.

22. In spite of your common sense reasoning.....
I just have this feeling about it being Jeb...to carry on with the family tradition...to not let the power they have deliberately accrued out of the control of the BFEE..

26. my theory on Jeb
they've got to have a democrat win in 2008 so they can blame eveything on him like they do with Clinton. Then Jebby can come in in 2012 and nothing will be his fault.

19. Maybe it'll happen at a "dead-locked" convention...
Edited on Fri Aug-25-06 08:14 AM by Totally Committed
Like you said, there will be no concensus candidate, and he is brought forth on the third or fourth ballot as a "savior"... I can see it happening, EXCEPT for his health and his age.

Or, maybe (as it totally appears) he's found a way to live without a heart altogether... in which case he might be their PERFECT candidate.

I've broken out in hives as I wrote this... back after a dip in the hydro-cortisone!

21. It will start with some caucus states
vote going to him.. by the time the convention starts he will grab any uncommitted votes. this will be enough to not get mc cain elected on the 1st or 2nd ballot. Bush throws his support behind him. this will force a conference where more and more votes go to him via arm twisting and corrosion.

28. I don't think he'd be interested.

He's already filthy rich from the no-bid Halliburton contracts. Holding any office would just take up his time and he wouldn't get to enjoy his ill-gotten gains. It's a damn shame so money had to die just to put money in his pocket.
