Lieberman campaigning with Repug candidates in CT today.
According to the Lamont campaign blog, Lieberman will be campaigning today with Republican governor Jodi Rell and Republican Congressman Rob Simmons.

Governor Rell is enormously popular and almost sure to win reelection against Dem challenger John DeStefano. Congressman Simmons, however, is running against Dem Joe Courtney in a highly contested race--one which Dems are targetting in their bid to control Congress.

Hey Joe, wasn't it just a couple of days ago I heard you insist that you're still a devoted Democrat?

2. Good. I hope it gets a lot of coverage in the news.
Let's see what the Democrats who still say he is a good Democrat think.

I'll bet the Simmons campaign office could tell you, though.

Good luck on your interview. Moveon is looking for campaign workers.

edit to add: it's probably in the morning, so they can rah rah on the noon news.

5. If it walks like a Repug, talks like a Repug, and campaigns like a
Repug, it must be a Repug!

Despite his insistence that he's a Democrat, Joe Lieberman's actions just don't add up. Out with the old, in with the new! We need change in America, and that's Ned Lamont!!

6. But, I thought the Democrats left HIM!!!!
Just like Zell "Liberal Compared to the Klan" Miller. At least it didn't take so long for Lieberman-Iscariot to show his true colors. But Jodi Rell should know better than to pick up some schlub on the rebound.

15. Actual explanation
The reason for that event is to celebrate the fact that the submarine base was not closed. In what universe would the governor of the state, the Representative of the district or the senator who championed the cause not be there? By the way, if the other two pols were Democrats, Lieberman would have been there too. It's an event designed to show voters what good things incumbents have done for them.
