"Fox Fans" Iran solution? "Massive pre-emptive missile and air-strikes"
Today's question:

If YOU were president, what would be your reaction to Iran's nuclear response?

"Massive pre-emptive missile and air-strikes." — Sara (Wisconsin)

"I would return to the basic premise declared immediately after 9/11: you are either with us or you are with the terrorists. We need to acknowledge that we are currently involved in a world war against Islamic terrorists and the supporters of Islamic fascist regimes. Iran falls in both categories, a terrorist state and a supporter of terrorism. As such, I would ask Congress to declare war on Iran, with the goal of neutralizing their ability to develop weapons of mass destruction and to support terrorism." — Steve (Hollywood, MD)

"Iran has made no secret that it sponsors Hezbollah financially as well as with weapons. As president, I see no alternative other than to immediately strike Iran with overwhelming force. We are positioned perfectly for such an attack — we have plenty of troops and equipment on their western border in Iraq, as well as on their northern border in Afghanistan, and can easily stage a naval attack from the south in the Persian Gulf. It is imperative that they never acquire a nuclear weapon." — Trent

"I would state that Iran has two weeks before the power and might of the U.S. military is unleashed upon them. I would offer no negotiations. I would tell their government that they would have to have relinquish power and be exiled. I would encourage Iranians to take control of their freedom. I would also warn them to seek shelter and move away from targets that I would make known to them. After two weeks and with no succession, I would strike and strike hard. I would target strategic military sites, power plants, factories, and any industry that would cripple the country." — J.R. (Tulsa, OK)

16. Your right to these ignoramuses this is nothing more than
Jesus vs Mohamed, and a chance to show that their God is tougher. I'm sure in their churches their prayers are similar to Mark Twains "The War Prayer"

"O Lord our Father, our young patriots, idols of our hearts, go forth to battle – be Thou near them! With them – in spirit – we also go forth from the sweet peace of our beloved firesides to smite the foe. O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with hurricanes of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with their little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it – for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen."

5. that's a lot of work for the military
These guys should sign up, since under their version of foreign policy, the US military is going to need a lot of help. It's hard to keep fighting wars when people don't want to enlist.

8. We unleashed
"the power and might of the U.S. military" on Iraq, with the "Shock and Awe" beginning of that war, and we are hopelessly bogged down there, unable to win, but Bush is too arrogant to admit it. So now these clowns want us to try the same with Iran, which does have a sizable army, and they think it's going to do the trick?

These are part of the Republican base. Nationalistic, bigoted, and arrogant as their president. They say things that are not grounded in reality. None of them realize that at this stage of affairs, we MUST start talking to other countries, instead of dictating to them. We've got to drop the patronizing attitude, and attempt to get along with other cultures.

Which would be immediately followed by massive retaliatory missile and air-strikes against our troops on the ground in Iraq and our ships in the Persian Gulf. Followed by god-only-knows-what.

Oh, yeah, real smart tactic, there. :sarcasm:

and be grounded for life, as they may be a danger to them selves and anyone else they come in to contact with.

17. This is why I like to see General Clark on Faux.
Not too long ago he was on DaySide and the audience seemed all for this.
He asked the people who were in the studio if they really wanted to see their children and grandchildren in uniform? He said that the airforce is capable of bombing Iran but this wouldn't take care of the problem of Iran having nuclear weapons. The next step would have to be invading and occupying, and in all reality that is insane. (paraphrasing here) I have heard many Generals use the word "insane".

I guess a lot of these pseudo, macho, simple-minded people were not watching Dayside. Sean Hannity is certainly pushing for attacking Iran.
