Congress to abandon Internet's First Amendment H.R. 5252 / S. 2686
This may have been posted before but I don't care... Yet another example of our elected officials selling out to big business.

Congress is pushing a law that would abandon the Internet's First Amendment -- a principle called Network Neutrality that prevents companies like AT&T, Verizon and Comcast from deciding which Web sites work best for you -- based on what site pays them the most. If the public doesn't speak up now, our elected officials will cave to a multi-million dollar lobbying campaign.

4. Exactly! The net is about the last place where anyone can get
any real information vs. the spin and exclusion of the MSM...

10. Sadly, three Dems are waffling...
Mikulski (MD), Dayton (MN) and LIEberman (CT). OK so that last one isn't really a Dem, but he plays one on TV.

Oh yeah, and John "Straight Talk" McCain (R-Shit Creek) is in favor of giving the Internet over to the corporations, too. Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, is for Net Neutrality. This must become a campaign issue in '08 as well as '06.

5. Freedom of the net is a danger to their hold on power. Look at what
happened to Allen and his Macaca remark. It was all over the internet right away and he could not intimidate the "mainstream media" into burying it.

6. They are selling out the American People again.
We will have more Bush clones in power if they succeed.

Kicked and recommended

11. GOP Culture of Corruption and the Cover-Up Congress are
always for big business over the citizens of America.
