McCain Campaigns with DeWine - Attacks Brown
I guess "tough talking" McCain was surprised when Brown talked tough right back. BTW, the Dems "Turnaround Ohio" Tour of rural Ohio has really shaken up the GOP - Dems are drawing large crowds, many GOP voters...

"With war hero and tough-talking Arizona Sen. John McCain at his shoulder, U.S. Sen. Mike DeWine framed his battle for re-election today as one about the security of the nation.

Citing rival Sherrod Brown’s opposition as a congressman to the U.S.A. Patriot Act, passed after Sept. 11 to give the government broad powers to investigate suspected terrorists, DeWine complained that his opponent lacks the commitment to defend the country.

...

As for the security issues, Brown says he “takes a back seat to no one” on protecting the homeland, pointing to his calls for more money for port security and body armor for American troops.

This past weekend, he again charged that DeWine as a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee paid little attention to weapons of mass destruction and the needs of soldiers and failed to ask “tough questions” of Bush.

2. McCain hasn't been much help
It doesn't appear their Parma event got much of a turnout - right in the heart of Reagan Democrat country.

OTOH, the "Turnaround Ohio" bus tour has been drawing big crowds in the GOP areas.

3. Strike while the iron is hot.
Here's my advice to the Ohio Democratic Party (and I live here, so I can say it.): The honorable Judge Anna Diggs Taylor has just found the POTUS' wiretapping of American citizens to be UNCONSTITUTIONAL. The POTUS has said he has done this OVER 30 TIMES AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO. Senator Mikey "Fascist Enabler" DeWine, as part of the Senate Intelligence Committee, has gone out of his way PROVIDE COVER FOR THE ILLEGAL, UNCONSTITUTIONAL SPYING ON U.S. CITIZENS BY THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION. Senator DeWine proposed legislation that would make intentionally identifying or describing the Bush Administration's domestic spying program (as The New York Times did) A CRIME PUNISHABLE BY $1 MILLION FINE, 15 YEARS IN PRISON, OR BOTH, THUS SILENCING THE FREE PRESS.

SENATOR MIKE DEWINE HAS AIDED AND ABETTED THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION TO COMMIT FELONIES AGAINST U.S. CITIZENS.

I'm sorry. Was I ranting?

We have to hammer it home to the news media - they should be reporting on this.
