When does the New Revolution Start?
Edited on Mon Aug-21-06 06:18 PM by The Sushi Bandit
When do we say enough is enough??
When do we take to the streets in mass?
When do we stop the Neo-con control of America?
When do we take our country back?

the next Neo-con "president" for life - do you want this?

3. Sept 1st I say... cannot afford to wait
This is national Impeach Bush Day...

If we wait till November we will likely fall into the trap. They have something crazy planned. In fact when it is implemented we will all be walking around like we got hit in the gut with a wrecking ball and won't have much energy to hit the streets. Many will as a result fall right into line out of shear fear. Mark my words, it will be big (they are sick enough to do it!). But If we hit em now we have a chance. I am in the process of putting togteher a bunch of freeway signs. I am not a freeway blogger but this is something I am capable of so that will be my contribution... what is yours?...

28. There is alot going on right now
Starting noon ET on Sept 1, 2006, and lasting 24 hours, websites and blogs all across the internet are being asked to replace their front pages with a single word "Impeach" in simple white text with black background. Here is an example: http://impeachment.net.
If you are planning on joining this event let them know at http://impeachment.net/blog/contact

You can also visit democrats.com for more information on other events.

I agree with you, now is the time for democrats to join together and fight the good fight.
You can also visit my website for impeachment information: www.johnlisinmilo.com

4. "In 1957, a sensitive American official overseas .....

said that it seemed to him that our nation was on the wrong side of a world revolution. During the past ten years we have seen emerge a pattern of suppression which has now justified the presence of U.S. military advisors in Venezuela. This need to maintain social stability for our investment accounts for the counter-revolutionary action of American forces in Guatemala. It tells why American helicopters are being used against guerrillas in Cambodia and why American napalm and Green Beret forces have already been active against rebels in Peru.

It is with such activity in mind that the words of the late John F. Kennedy come back to haunt us. Five years ago he said, "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." Increasingly, by choice or by accident, this is the role our nation has taken: the role of those who make peaceful revolution impossible by refusing to give up the privileges and the pleasures that come from the immense profits of overseas investments. I am convinced that if we are to get on the right side of the world revolution, we as a nation must undergo a radical revolution of values. We must rapidly begin , we must rapidly begin the shift from a thing-oriented society to a person-oriented society. When machines and computers, profit motives and property rights, are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, extreme materialism, and militarism are incapable of being conquered.

A true revolution of values will soon look uneasily on the glaring contrast of poverty and wealth. With righteous indignation, it will look across the seas and see individual capitalists of the West investing huge sums of money in Asia, Africa, and South America, only to take the profits out with no concern for the social betterment of the countries, and say: "This is not just." It will look at our alliance with the landed gentry of South America and say: "This is not just." The Western arrogance of feeling that it has everything to teach others and nothing to learn from them is not just.

A true revolution of values will lay hands on the world order and say of war: "This way of settling differences is not just." This business of burning human beings with napalm, of filling our nation’s homes with orphans and widows, of injecting poisonous drugs of hate into the veins of peoples normally humane, of sending men home from dark and bloody battlefields physically handicapped and psychologically deranged, cannot be reconciled with wisdom, justice, and love. A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death."

9. Name a time and place, man
I'm well past waiting for the rest of the world to wake up. Let's make our stand now. We may be succesfull, we may not be, but if we fail, let's fail fighting for something we believe in. Go down with honor and glory. Too much harm has been done, too many innocents killed to allow this to go on.

11. Don't play into their hands
Protests are fine. But even if you get one million people out in the streets, FOX will say that 55 million voted for Bush in 2004.

Definitely people should be demanding clean and fair elections at every level. Hounding the responsible officials on a state-by-state basis. Working to make sure that only trustworthy officials are elected to be put in charge of how elections are carried out.

But aside from the issue of electoral integrity, every other issue is probably best addressed through the channel of representative democracy.

Otherwise the other side will say "They know they're in the minority. They know they can't win elections. That's what makes them so angry."

The right-wing media LOVES to paint Democrats as "Sore Losers".

PLEASE - Don't let yourself fall into their trap!

Now is the time to make our voices heard. We would gather up much steam and that momentum could be used to propel us to victory in the elections and beyond.

15. This is something that cannot be done by just the two of us
it will take the entire sites support to get out the word. We should get in contact with someone close to Cindy Sheehan...she would make a good rallying point with all the various progressive groups throughout the country. We need more bodies to start the organizational work. Any suggestions of people we could get in contact with?

so many people living in such bad conditions that large numbers of people start taking matters into their own hands. Just like we did prior to the revolutionary war.

20. This won't change anything
Unfortunately, it was never "your" country to begin with. It has been owned and run by capitalists looking out for their interests and using the state to further those interests. The only time that they actually care about people like you and me is when it is convenient for them to do so.

This country will not be put on a "better" track if we just elect someone that's "not a neocon" or someone that's supposedly "supporting our interests" for various reasons. First, because politicians are basically owned by big business through campaign funding, etc... Second, because these politicians will always act in the interests of those who are supporting them (i.e. capitalists).

The problems that we are facing in this country are either economic problems, or are the result of economic problems.

when are the rest of us here going to wake up? Why is this thread been on life-support when there are so many wonderful and smart people here who could make this happen?

Let's be proactive. Let's be people of action. Let's set an example in America for the whole world to follow. If all of us stopped complaining and playing victim then maybe we wouldn't have anything to complain about.

Let's do this!
