Remember Vince Foster?
How about FileGate or TravelGate? Or Monica and all that crap?

Here is what is happening. The RW noise machine is going to issue poll result after poll result showing how strong a candidate Hillary Clinton would be. They, along with their lapdog media machine, will struggle mightily to create the "aura of inevitability" of her receiving the 2008 nomination, and if we let down our guard for a second, they will get their way.

The day they DO get their way, they will turn ON A DIME. They will then start replaying every damn scandal of the Clinton administration, and they will stab her with every dagger they can grasp.

God spare the Democratic party of more Hillary Clinton. We can do better.

1. Do NOT support a pro-war candidate for President '08.
That election is a long way down the road. For now take the pledge:

"I will NOT support a pro-war candidate for President in '08."

Repubs. favorite Democratic candidate!"

5. Boo...
Oooh those scary Republicans and their mean tactics....

No one in the party has dealt more successfully with the Republican slime machine than Hillary Clinton...

And I'm sure the Republicans will be much nicer to someone else...just ask John Kerry!

7. There's a difference..
... even Kerry doesn't already have 40% of the population hating him.

No, Hillary's done ok in NY, and NY is hardly representative of the whole US.

9. Look at the time poll...
Edited on Sun Aug-20-06 09:01 PM by SaveElmer
Kerry's negatives are higher than Hillary's...

40% of the population is gonna vote against any Democrat!

And since when are polls written in stone...

As many here like to say the polls on Hillary can change...and they can...

Campaigning means something...otherwise lets just take a poll on the second Tuesday in November and whoever is on top wins...no use having these pasky campaigns and elections!!!

10. I trust Time..
.. like I trust Dick Cheney. Seriously, you believe those polls?

BTW - I'm no Kerry fan, although I think in a real race he'd have a lot better chance than HRC.

11. You can deny them all you want...
Hillary consistently polls as the most popular Democrat, and polls better against the Republican big guns than any other Democrat...that is a fact...

If you really want to derail Hillary, you need to face up to this reality instead of hiding behind platitudes about bad polls, Republican pollsters etc etc...

12. That's mostly because..
.. most Americans don't follow politics and the Clinton name is all they know.

I want to derail HRC because she is the right wing's choice because they know they can trounce her, regardless of what any poll says now.

13. Really...and Americans are soooo stupid....
Thay can't remember the name of the last Democratic nominee, or the last Vice-Presidential nominee...or the last legitimate Vice President?

Please...Hillary is more popular than you want to believe...deal with that fact and your effort to oppose her in the primaries will be much more successful. I suspect most will continue their denial however

16. They have double the dirt on Hillary...
Edited on Sun Aug-20-06 09:23 PM by TwoSparkles
...that they did on Kerry--and just look at what they did to Kerry!

Hillary is the dream candidate of the Republican party. In my opinion, she's a Democrat's worst nightmare, as a presidential candidate.

The Republicans have a lie-based foothold on the "security issue." They've managed to convince America that they're tougher on terror.
Hillary will symbolize weakness on terror--and weakness on family values/morality. America will be catapulted back into endless discussions
of semen on "the blue dress" and salacious excerpts from Bill's and Monica's grand-jury testimony. We'll hear Bill say, "I did NOT...have
sexual relations...with that woman" at least a hundred times.

America rejected all of this--and their revulsion of the lies and the scandals helped usher in the BushCo era. Do we want to take
that chance again when there are dozens of other Dem candidates who don't have so many negatives?

Hillary is a lose-lose situation. She's got more baggage than a Louis Vitton boutique, and she has NOT been progressive on many Dem issues.
In fact, she's been silent on most occasions. She's refused to denounce her vote on the Iraq war. Many Dems, including Kerry, Kennedy, and
Edwards have come out against their initial votes. Hillary could have stood with them. She didn't.

In my opinion, Hillary hasn't earned her place as our Dem candidate. Not this time. We need someone who's out there--slugging it out
and fighting against this sick, perverse Fascist regime. Either you're screaming from the rafters against BushCo--and fighting the
good fight--or you're not. You can't sporadically fight these mafia-type thugs. What is her stance on our civil rights going down the
toilet, anyway?

We don't need someone who intermittently fights what has happened to our democracy. We need a full-time warrior.

21. Wrong on so many counts...
"Hillary is the dream candidate of the Republican party. In my opinion, she's a Democrat's worst nightmare, as a presidential candidate"

Hardly. If she were they would not say a word about her. Funny how those opposing Hillary in the Party say it is Republcian plot to get Hillary when they something nice about her. And when the Republicans attack her, like after her comments to the NAACP last year, Democrats say the same thing. Fact is, the Republicans, having been burned time and time again by the Clintons are worried about her political, and fundraising prowess..

"The Republicans have a lie-based foothold on the "security issue." They've managed to convince America that they're tougher on terror.
Hillary will symbolize weakness on terror--and weakness on family values/morality. America will be catapulted back into endless discussions
of semen on "the blue dress" and salacious excerpts from Bill's and Monica's grand-jury testimony. We'll hear Bill say, "I did NOT...have
sexual relations...with that woman" at least a hundred times."

Please, the Republican sleaze machine works when they level a new charge the American people have not heard before. Every charge has been heard on Hillary and evaluated. The Swift Boat attacks on Kerry worked because they were new, and because Kerry did an incredibly inept job of responding to them. No one in the party has more experience of success at dealing with Republican sleaze attacks, and effectively turning them to her advantage. Quite simply, she is the most talented politician in the Democratic Party

"America rejected all of this--and their revulsion of the lies and the scandals helped usher in the BushCo era. Do we want to take
that chance again when there are dozens of other Dem candidates who don't have so many negatives?"

Baloney, Bill Clinton went out of office with a 65% approval rating, and his wife had just been elected United States Senator. We lost in 2000 because Al Gore, in his desire to distance himself from Clinton's problems, distanced himself from Clinton's record.

"Hillary is a lose-lose situation. She's got more baggage than a Louis Vitton boutique, and she has NOT been progressive on many Dem issues."

Again not true. The Republicans are going to ascribe baggage to any Democrat that runs. How'd Kerry turn out? Hillary is in fact progressive on virtually every Democratic issue. I urge you to examone her voting record more carefully

"In fact, she's been silent on most occasions. She's refused to denounce her vote on the Iraq war. Many Dems, including Kerry, Kennedy, and
Edwards have come out against their initial votes. Hillary could have stood with them. She didn't. "

Hillary does not have to apologize. She made a principled vote. One that was not a call to war regardless of what most would have you believe. As she has made crystal clear in her on the IWR, and in a subsequent , she was voting to give the government added ammunition in its supposed effort to reintroduce inspectors. She was perhaps naive, as she has essentially admitted in her letter, for trusting the intelligence coming from Bush, but it is Bush that should be doing the apologizing.

.

18. If anyone doubts that the Republicans...
..are salivating for a Hillary run--just look at how the corporate, MSM props her up as the leading candidate.

The MSM is in the process of leveraging the BushCo war machine and covering up their crimes.

Does anyone think that suddenly, they're being nice to Democrats by furthering a Hillary candidacy? They're
propping up the candidate that the Republicans want as the nominee.

This should be enough to turn off the Dems from her candidacy as the Dem nominee for pResident.
