The coup of 2000 proof and what does it mean in 2006
This bit of history that gave us bush as President seems to have been oddly forgotten.

"DELAND, Fla., Nov. 11 - Something very strange happened on election night to Deborah Tannenbaum, a Democratic Party official in Volusia County. At 10 p.m., she called the county elections department and learned that Al Gore was leading George W. Bush 83,000 votes to 62,000. But when she checked the county's Web site for an update half an hour later, she found a startling development: Gore's count had dropped by 16,000 votes, while an obscure Socialist candidate had picked up 10,000--all because of a single precinct with only 600 voters."
- Washington Post Sunday , November 12, 2000 ; Page A22

I wonder if this happened to bush and the voting machine company was held by democrats how big
the uproar would have been? Diebold later blamed "this glitch" on a faulty memory card but Al Gore
never got the votes back.

Are the campaigns now for show?

And the real work being in the rigging of the vote, controlling the media,
and building a cover story of plausible deniability on why the vote
came out as it did.

This November will it be that although unpopular at the last minute people
voted for republicans because they could protect us better?

1. the democratic party INC of the USA allowed 2000 to happen
the candidates of the democratic party INC of the USA allowed the republicans to get away with it.

will it happen again? yes. will the democratic party Inc of the USA and its candidates allow the republicans to get away with again?

people commit fraud and crimes until they are stopped by somebody or something.

2. Maybe Katherine Harris will confess to all that she and Jeb did
...to rig the 2000 Florida vote before Nov 7, 2006. One can only hope. Deland is part of Tom Feeney's district I think. There is another reThuglican sleaze ball.

us so well.

After all, didn't he and the military industrial complex prove themselves on 9/11? What decisive action! I knew that day that not one cent had been wasted on our military. Why, without them, God only knows what loss of life and destruction could have taken place.

I doubt the public will turn to Bush when the chips are down (the damn liberal press will see to that).

But when it comes to the final counting of the vote, I'm sure the computers will take care of it for the Republicans. And the corporate media will be able to explain it all to us.

6. I like your phrasing--
That of the elections being only for show, with the real work of putting someone in office going on elsewhere and bowing to other priorities.

I suspect the felons who are deeply embedded in the bowels of election stage managing have always had that mantra--that the voting and its attendant drama have always been strictly for show and that it is only now that the wires and fake scenery have become more visible.

7. This election is more important to them now.
And it may have not been if bush-co had succeeded in the ME and things were going peachy. But they didn't and his very presidency depends on maintain a majority in congress. He cannot risk being impeached.
So I feel that all the stops will be pulled out for this one, and every trick known to them will be used, and all the power and influence that they have, and it is vast, they will use to insure a republican majority (with key democrats that can be trusted) in the house especially.
You know it is not so hard to believe that a truly elected government just might indite them for crimes and send them to jail. So they must win, the democrats just have to want to win.

13. they will not pull this off
their money has dried up, who has GWB not pissed off: the Israelis, the fiscal conservativies,
the born agains who say he did not do enough and abortion is still legal, the neocons who wanted
a military victory in the M.E., the American people who wanted a normal USA with a booming
economy? The Congress that he has booted and mocked. Who is this man going to get money from.
The minutemen are angry over his lax immigration policies. The African American people are mad
about being cheated out of voting in 2 major elections and Katrina. I am telling you that
his financial resources have dwindled. He thought he would be a big success by now with
his shock and awe program for the Middle East. None of the Bush crew knows an effective way
forward now.

9. But will it be exposed and faught?
Edited on Sun Aug-20-06 01:43 PM by Botany
I remember Tom DeLay on Fox recently said that, "We have better technology,"
and so he expected the repugs to maintain power.

That is the 2nd time he has all but come out and said, "Yes we steal votes."

The other was Jan 6 2005 on the House floor after Conyers' report on Ohio
and people were questioning the vote; "What do these people think, that Karl Rove
was in the White House basement on election night flipping votes?"

10. First we need the proof and the rethugs are masters at spinning......
the lies, deception and fraud into something else. Voting machines without paper trails will ONLY lead to election corruption by the rethug corrupters. Rethug election credo: It's NOT how you win, Only that you do.

11. Egg Zac Lee
so after the dems get screwed laws are passed that screw them more.
Where is the fight in em?

Florida 2000 and we get HAVA
Ohio 2004 and we get voter I.D. laws,
no looking @ hardware and software, and no recounts. ( HB 3 )

These are no longer the Republicans of Dwight Eisenhower, Eve Dirkson,
Margaret Chase Smith, or Barry Goldwater these are thugs who do the bidding
of corporations and have "an echo chamber" in a compliant media.

We have to win by margins well beyond the Diebold limit and we also need
to push Dr. Dean and company to challenge fraudulent outcomes and demand
a clean vote.

Thanks Botany. It's so sad to see Americans just let something so blatant go essentially unnoticed. Idiots in the media. And where are the lawyers? We all had that "feeling". It was like a hangover. That next day, when we knew something was wrong. Thanks for pulling that sad morsel of undemocratic activity out of the memory hat.

17. From what I see so far
We don't know what voter turn-out will be in november . We do know 80% of the votes will be on diebold with no paper trail so how do you count the votes . If the repugs pulled this off in 2000 and then again in 2004 each in a different way then you have to count on plans C-Z being implemented in 2006 .

In lamonts primary there was a high percentage of voter turnout and the repugs see the result of this so they will do their best to reduce the voters turn-out by disqualifing voters at the polls and this have have done in 2000 and 2004 .

I don't intend to come off negative here but we must look at all aspects and do what we can to prevent this again . We wasted 2 years where we should have been after these electronic machines from the start .

18. thank you for posting..i got this last night in my email from
Edited on Sun Aug-20-06 06:39 PM by flyarm
someone inside a campaign in fla..

i could cry ..as nothing in fla has changed from 2000..its only gotten worse for dems..and for citizens of fla to have a legit election...and it doesn't matter how hard and loud we scream..nothing gets done..we get no help..and it is more stolen elections for our future...jeb has made sure of that..and the dem party has stayed silent.. ..of 2000, 2002, and 2004 stolen elections

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx the email i got last night..

Seems Duvall County is sending machines home with staff over night
rather than SOE employees picking them up and delivering to sites by 10
am .....

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

the person who sent this to me was asking for my help...

so if i seem mad as hell, if i seem emotional about this ..you can bet i am..but add disgusted as well..

and tired of paying out of pocket for audits and training people to help get back democracy in a state doing everything to strip its people of democracy..

and tired of fighting my own party to take responsibility for what has happened to my state of fla..

we citizens are fighting an uphill battle in fla, that other states will only first experience this year..we have been fighting it since 2000..

we have been promised help and all we get it a pacifier...or a blanket over the real problems..

we didn't just have our elections stolen in 2000, but they were stolen in 2002 and again in 2004..and there is no such hope it won't happen again in nov...

we don't give up..

and we won't give up..but no one can understand our frustration until they have seen 3 of their national elections stolen..blatently..and know it will happen again ..even in our primanries deciding who will be the candidate for governor in our own party.

i have been told i am too emotional by a du'er ..and too angry..well i can assure you i am both..and until my vote , and my families votes count, i will stay angry ..and fighting!
