I met Ed Rendell last night!
Unfortunately, I didn't get to say much to him since there were so many other people there, but I did get to shake his hand and tell him it was a pleasure to meet him. He seemed very nice, and had a good, firm handshake. This was my first time getting to meet a political figure, and I feel very fortunate that it was him.

1. I've met Ed on several occasions.
Mostly at Eagles games but also in other situations. He's a good dude for a politician and he has a presence. It'll be good to have him for another four years. If we can get this goddamn Republican state congress to stop impeding him or kick a lot of them out his second term will be better.

2. Fast Eddy...
Ed Rendell is the consummate politician... street smart, feisty, savvy, smooth, and fearless. As mayor of Philly, he never stopped.... going from City Council, to the DA's office, to street parties, doing the mummer's strut with the working guys...

Apparently he has a reputation for wearing out blackberries, and has his driver speeding on the turnpike.. what a guy! If we could bottle his gift for representing the party, we'd have no problems come November.

3. I've met Ed.
He's a politician, that's for sure. I don't always agree with him, but he's been good for PA.
Phone banking for him and Casey Mon nights from now to Nov. Should be a lot of fun.

4. Howard Fineman on The Chris Matthew's Show
said he "heard" that if Rendell won in November by as big a margin as thought, and if several seats flip Dem here in PA that he may be showing up in Iowa.

My head hurts when I think about '08.

I like Ed Rendell alot, BTW. My mother-in-law loves those Mummer's parades and has a pic of her, her daughter and Rendell from the July 4th parade in the Northeast part of the city. She said he held up the parade a bit to talk to her and pose for the picture, she gets giddy when she talks about him. (Come to think of it, old corrupt thug Frank Rizzo made her giddy too, but she is Italian). Philadelphian's love Ed, not so sure about the rest of the state, the vitriol that comes from alot of the callers on the PCN Channel (PA's version of Cspan) is not only disturbing, but hard for me to understand. I don't know if he'll run, or even if he has a chance, but he's an amazing politician. He has that rare quality to make you think he's "one of us", very sincere and down to earth, like Clinton. And sharp as a tack. I feel like we're in good hands here.
