(General) George Allen in a Confederate Uniform in a movie
Edited on Sun Aug-20-06 01:07 AM by RamboLiberal

I believe this is from the movie Gods and Generals. You can watch the video at http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a81/kos102/2006/01%20August/Videos/?action=view¤t=G-G.flv

Note Ted Turner in the scene and I believe this is the movie Robert Byrd had a part as a Confederate.

1. This was "Gods and Generals."
It wasn't bad, but way too long.

Senator Byrd was the most shocking one to me. You'd think with his past membership in the Klan to live down, he would have run for the hills when they showed him a Confederate uniform to wear.

Senator Phil Gramm of Texas was the smartest one. He played a member of the Virginia legislature, so he could be a Confederate without wearing the uniform.

3. Thanks - I corrected in my OP
I thought that Gods and Generals was the title but some website I looked at had the incorrect title. Should've believed myself.

4. The right wing media was heavily promoting it when it came out...
...so I didn't see it.

5. Southern Heritage isnt anything to be ashamed of
dont forget the Klan marched with the stars and stripes long before they EVER marched with the battle flag....

2. Yet he is of the party of Lincoln?
What kind of self-respecting southerner joins the Republican Party? The party of General Sherman and his rape and pillage of Atlanta and the Carolinas? The party that shoved Reconstruction down the South's throat. Would Stonewall Jackson and General Lee be proud of all of today's southerners who claim to be so respectful of southern pride and heritage, even as they cast a ballot for the party of Lincoln every November?

6. Intrresting....
but I wouldn't put too much into a movie appearance. Being in a movie is playing a role that may or may not be like you in reality.
