Need talking points about why Bill didn't respond to Al Queda attacks on the Embassy and USS cole in the 90's.

He fire missiles and tried to get bin-Laden BUT MISSED! plus if your fight a replug Bill blow up the WMD 's in Iraq and the Republicans made staements like Wag the Dog when he did so

He sent several dozen cruise missiles into Afghanistan and bombed a chemical weapons factory in the Sudan.

At the time, the GOP said it was a distraction from something more important - Monica.

You might remember that the next month was a little thing call a Pesidential election. A better question would be"Why didn't bush do anything?".

6. The Clinton team tried to get the point across to the bush transition team
about the serious threat posed by Al Qeada - and though the Cole attack had just happened a couple of months earlier, the bush team pretty much blew the Clinton team off.

Cheney was appointed the WH person in charge of Terrorism efforts (as in prevent) - and he didn't even hold a single meeting before 911. However he held many, many 'energy policy' meetings with corporate executives. Priorites and all...

7. squandered the hard work and diplomacy
the Clinton Admin had done prior to, and following the Cole bombing- a good example would be with the UAE.

11. Also - the Cole's refueling was the responsibility of KBR - Halliburton
is their US company. A company headed by Cheney at the time - and the press did NOTHING to note that connection.

Cheney set up the process for alot of the military's logistics to be handled by private firms like Halliburton before he left DoD in 93.
