I can also recommend another book on organic farming and ethical eating, I just got- "Of holy cows and hog heaven" by Joel Salatin.

I am looking fwd to the "Fast Food Nation" movie :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

2. Who is talking about govt intervention in kitchens?

All these books are about educating people to make compassionate or ethical food choices...

Besides I have never agreed with the -"there are more important things to worry about" argument with regard to animal welfare/ environmental issues.

Its usually not mutually exclusive-you can care about one issue without neglecting every other issue under the sun. I think factory farming and environmental degradation are huge issues of our time. That doesn't make me care less about other issues ?

3. I agree with you
I often wonder if people realize how much of the grain grown (worldwide) goes to feeding the livestock we consume, and just how environmentally damaging those farming practices are.
