Narrowing the Democratic Focus
----Like most partisan groups, democratic partisans are quick to jump onto every single little issue, as if looking for some small particle of leverage in the overall struggle. Got a republican drunk driver in North Dakota? Oh yeah,... by all means let's throw it into the general cacaphony of partisan conflict. But such gestures are ultimately meaningless. There are only two issues of any significance.

---- # 1 --- Getting the PNAC out of government,... rescinding all PNAC influences, including the Patriot Act, domestic spying, preparations for martial law, etc, etc,... and then seeing that PNAC members are severely punished for their attack on the Constitution,... Every last one of them should end up serving no less than five years in federal detention,... and some should pay the "ultimate price" for their actions. Democrats,.... this is what "getting tough," means.

---- # 2 --- Making sure that democrats represent a true and healthy alternative to the neocon infestation currently residing in the White House. If you're just going to take money from the same corporate sources, and then push a slightly more domestically-favorable agenda, then screw you. Corporate money in elections has to be outlawed ENTIRELY,... If you don't do it, then you are just republican-lite. In other words, reform the political system so that NO entity has any measure of influence, except for the one man - one vote principle. Get rid of lobbyists, too.

----If some corporate lawyer objects on grounds of "freedom of speech," then point out that "speech" is limited to individual human US citizens,.. as was intended by the Constitution. All further arguments may be interpreted as attacks on the Constitution,....and such attacks have some dreadful consequences. Illuminate those consequences, and see who objects the following day.

----My bet is that the democrats do not want to do any of these things,... even repealing the Patriot Act or bringing charges against Dick Cheney. Americans being besieged with calls for "accountability" are going to notice this.
