My LTTE about the GWB/the GOP and terrorism was published
Note: This was inspired by the 100 things to do before the election that DFA has been pushing. A day or two it was write a letter to the editor.

Amazing George Bush

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It never ceases to amaze me when it is suggested that George Bush and the GOP are tough on terrorism.

Here are a few facts about Bush's toughness: Bush recently entered into a nuclear power agreement with one of his "allies" in the fight against terrorism, Pakistan. Pakistan is also the new home of Osama bin Laden. Remember him? He's the guy that Bush promised to hunt down and then promptly declared that bin Laden doesn't matter.

Pakistan is also the home of A Q Khan, the scientist who sold nuclear weapons secrets to Libya, long a hotbed of terrorism. Remember the Libyan hit squads?

Then there's the fact that several of the recently detained terror plot suspects in Britain hail from Pakistan. If Bush and the GOP are so tough on terrorism, why are they giving a country with so many terrorist ties nuclear technology? It boggles the mind.

BTW, I like the title that the paper gave it. Unsuspecting sheep and dittoheads may read it thinking their illustrious leader is being honored. :)

2. Well done! And much, much more than just a political jab....
The coddling of Pakistan (whose ISI spies were involved in financing 9/11) as well as the continuing nurturing of the Saudi despots (also involved in 9/11) will have very bad repercussions in the future.
