Please help with a Lieberman research project.
Lieberman claims to have voted with Democrats 90% of the time. I don't dispute that, but I would like to find out a little more about those votes. Here's what I want to know:

1) In that 90%, how many times was the majority Democratic position also the majority Republican position?

2) After factoring out the votes from (1), how many of the votes actually represented the "winning" position?

3) How did Lieberman vote on contentious issues of which his vote would have made the difference?

I need help, though. Where might I be able to find such information in relatively quick and easy to read form? Has anyone done an analysis like this?

Any help would be appreciated.

3. I believe this figure relates to votes where there was a strong
divergence between the two parties (e.g., where most Democrats voted on way and most Republicans voted the other). And it's actually true that there have been very few votes on which Lieberman has found himself as odds with the majority of the Democratic caucus. Indeed, even on the Iraq war resolution, I believe that most of the Democratic caucus voted with Lieberman in favor of the resolution.

4. Great. But where can I see that officially, all laid out?
I want to see the votes, the bills, and the winning positions.

6. You could compare to progressive caucus
I've wondered about that 90% figure myself. The bankruptcy bill passed with Dem support, so is that part of the 90??? Comparing to the House progressive caucus would give a good picture of his voting record. I'd help but I've got an ingrown hangnail or something and my finger is swollen about twice it's size. Can't type too much right now.

7. Nice try -- in the SENATE, most Dems voted in favor
I'll say it again, the majority of the Democratic caucus sided with Lieberman on the IWR. 29 Democrats voted in favor, 21 against. If you're complaint is that Lieberman didn't vote the way House Democrats did, then there are 28 other Democrats you should be complaining about too.
