Are Dems tough enough? Can they make their case and sell it by
November? The issue is war and Iraq; can they counter the repugs finally?

Are enough people disenchanted with the status quo to make a difference?

I heard tonight that more people could identify the American Idol winner
than Alito. :eyes: I'm happy to say I was gold on both, but I'm also
disgusted.

1. I think this question is why Ned Lamont's success so far is important
He's shown that Dems can articulate the issues in a convincing way - and that our Party's new candidate blood is ready, willing and able.

2. Yes, but that's one liberal state. I'm waiting for the Dems to
start their August attack that I heard about before they went on vacation. When's that gonna happen?

4. I see what you mean now
Well, I sure hope that Lamnont emboldens our candidates to hand out some articulate "red ass".

3. I am happy to say
that I have no friggin' clue who the American Idol winner is/was. And I'll keep it that way as long as I can.

I do see a lot of seething resentment about what is going on in this country, even from people who mostly talk about American Idol or football. Seems like a good sign. (altho I wish there wasn't so much bad stuff to seethingly resent.)

9. I agree - I was surprised to hear
my 76 year old dad say we have to get out of Iraq. He is a the youngest end of the WWII generation - graduating from High school a year too late to be in it. I know he bought the zingoistic patriotism in 2003 and 2004.

5. They need to embrace proven successful strategies used by the GOP
they need to lie, lie big, and lie daily.

They need to lie like their lives depend on it, and tell the kind of grand lies that people want to hear.

The bigger and bolder the lie, the more likely it is that the public will eat it up as literal fact.

6. We need to put John Tester out there
He needs to be the face of the Dem Party this fall, he and Webb and people like that. Whatever it takes to turn that "security" corner, I'm so sick of having to fight it.

8. Democratic Leadership kept America safe and secure for over forty years
Only under Republican leadership has America become a terrified quivering mass afraid of it's own shadow...Seems like a fairly simple sentence to state but I have not heard any Democrat utter such..
