John Fund: Bush is inarticulate, but that's not the same as stupid
Scarborough Country, MSNBC.

Scarborough played a rapid-fire collage of Bush-isms and is asking John Fund and Lawrence O'Donnell "Is Bush an idiot?"

MUST SEE TV! Watch tonight's repeat and look for the inevitable vid clip on Crooks & Liars (and elsewhere)

1. Inarticulate may not be the same as stupid, but it's just as bad.
"He's not an idiot. He simply has great difficulty communicating."

8. And don't forget that oft cited
repug talking point circa 2000: he's surrounded by a team of experienced, seasoned people who more than make up for any weaknesses he might have...you know, like Rummy, Dick and all those leftover Reagan criminals. Brilliance all around him!

:sarcasm:

5. I agree with Fund on this one thing
I am not a good communicator, either. So, I will agree that somebody that is not articulate is not necessarily stupid. However, I'm also an accountant, so my profession does not require fabulous communication skills. Bush is in a job that requires him to be a master communicator and is failing miserably there.

I think Bush is probably of average intelligence, maybe even a bit above average. If you wanted to say that he was evil & soulless elitist who cares only about enriching himself and his friends, then I'd agree with you 100%.

10. But you ARE a good communicator. Loads and loads ahead of Dubya.
It's not even close.

The man can't focus on a single thought, even if he's not speaking. There's a smirk on his face 24/7 that says, "My tax-privileged oil buddies are happy, so I'm doin' ok, and to hell with everybody else."

12. I am a decent writer
but, in person, I tend to stumble over words when speaking.

7. Like I'm gonna give John D Sex Pervert any credibility.
Any man who seduces a mother AND her daughter and forces the daughter to have an abortion, even though he claims he is pro-life?

WHY IS THAT PERVERT JOHN FUND ON ANY TV SHOW?

to pick up a newspaper..so his people read him the headlines of the day....

.....he doesn't care....

he is only concerned with his immediate circle....

19. Stupid is as stupid does
Invading and occupying Iraq was and is stupid. Running up the largest deficit and debt in US history is stupid. While he may not know or understand proper English he is also not very bright as evidenced by his policies.
