Geraldo, Stewart and Colbert
I just caught the repeat-I missed their second ripping into Geraldo last night

Poor old Porno Mustache-doesn't he know better than to pick on Stewart or Colbert?

I do like the original clip where Papa Bear and Geraldo are dissing TDS and The Repore.....tsk tsk...someone is feeling VERY insecure...

1. Just what was Geraldo talking about?
I saw the clip where he told Mr. Falafel, “You know, Comedy Central is now a big hit, Stewart and the Colbert guy. … They make a living putting on video of old ladies slipping on ice and people laughing. That’s their life. That’s their life. They exist in a small little place where they count for nothing.”

Now, I watch Jon and Stephen pretty regularly. But I missed the show with the little old ladies falling on ice.

Anyone else see it?

3. I know..that was totally out of the left field
I was like wtf is he talking about??!!!
If it was at least something like "they use vulgar language"...blah blah...at least it would make sense in the Faux universe....

This made absolutely no sense....

4. Geraldo will never forgive them
for the skit they did - Colbert tracing the movement of Geraldo's head coming off and falling only to circle back and go up his ass!!
Funniest thing ever!

He wishes it was old ladies - it was Geraldo getting busted for drawing troop movements in the sand on tv - thereby threatening the troops. What a loser.

12. Here is a lead
Edited on Wed Aug-16-06 12:39 AM by KT2000
there are two videos on Colbert's site that may have it. I have dial up and it takes forever to view a video so I didn't play it.

The one called "Jon's Apology" is about Gerlado and I think the "Jon gets Called Out" was part of the bit too.

Actually they had the Geraldo thing on both shows but not sure which one had the "head up his ass" skit.

http://www.comedycentral.com/shows/the_colbert_report/videos/most_recent/index.jhtml

sorry I can't be more help. The skit originally played during the beginning of the Gulf War and then during the Geraldo thing this week.

The one's on TDS that could have it are "Hard Rain" and "Jon's on Notice."

6. The O'Reilly show gets
Edited on Tue Aug-15-06 08:09 PM by TlalocW
2 million viewers a night I believe. The Daily Show 1.5 million from the numbers I found. O'Reilly's show is probably among the top 3 - if not the top - most watched shows on Fox, isn't it? What's Geraldo's viewership?

Plus, Fox is included in the vast majority of basic cable packages; Comedy Central is not. I think Jon Stewart is doing pretty well for itself, and Colbert probably is too.

Edited to correct: O'Reilly's show is probably one of the top 3 watched NEWS program on Fox. Dancing with the Stars, also on Fox, gets 10 times as many viewers as Bill.

11. One thing to keep in mind
is also that The Daily Show is on at 11, compared to O'Reilly being on at 8.

15. good point. could you imagine if TDS were on at prime time?
I would love to see what the difference in viewership would be at. My wish is to have it on earlier and extend it to an hour long by adding a second interview and extending the time for the first interview.

13. I read that the numbers for O'Reilly are in the 54+ demographic,
while Stewart's are in the much more desirable (from an advertiser's standpoint) because they are in the 18-34 demographic.

As if to drive the Pew survey's point home, "The Daily Show" reached a ratings milestone during the two weeks of the Iowa caucus, New Hampshire primary and State of the Union address. For the first time, Stewart's show had more male viewers aged 18 to 34 than any of the network evening news shows.

One newspaper, Newsday, has Stewart listed atop a list of the 20 media players who will most influence the upcoming campaign. Tim Russert, Ted Koppel, Sean Hannity, among others, trailed.

O'Reilly was pretty pimpy.

14. Geraldo would transfer to Comedy Central so fast your head would swim if
they would have him. He is a has-been and he knows it. He would get new life from Comedy Central - not that it is going to happen of course.

17. I loved when Stephen Colbert said something like -
what Geraldo said must be true since it was said on O'Reilly's show. Colbert's deadpan delivery is the best!

18. I loved Jon's re-showing of Geraldo's hurricane coverage
and JS's remark about "where are those flying pieces of aluminum when you need them".

The little old ladies slipping on ice must be code for all those embarrassing clips they show of "Hero-dal" and O'Shrilly.
