4. He was in the hospital for a few days last month, yes.
But at 93, this isn't exactly unusual. Plus he had a bout with pneumonia in January; I doubt he'll be with us all that much longer.

2. I'm glad it 's just for
Former president admitted to Mayo Clinic for ‘testing and evaluation’

Even though he's a rethug, he was put in a untenable position to lead this country.

I hope he is O.K.

3. Oh ... poor Old Pres. Ford
I could never muster up really negative feelings for him despite his political affiliation (and pardoning of Nixon and...).

I do wish him and his family well

7. I don't think Ford was anywhere near the likes of Nixon & Co.
Guess they should have picked a crook like themselves. Oh that's right they did, Reagan, Bush I and Bush II. America still hoping for an honest republican.

11. He was a actualy a funny guy ...
I thought that the evil republicans were gone when Nixon left and he was replaced by Ford. Gerry was great. We could all laugh AT him; the way he fell down stairs and Saturday Night Live was all over it.
Those were the days and man was I wrong about the evil repubs being gone. Ford was the one and only enjoyable part of 40 years of basicly solid GOP rule. The evil quickly got much worse.

12. They were funny skits. Ford was not the secretive type that
the other bozo's were/are.

8. Me too. Aside from Ford, I dread enduring a West Michigan pres.
funeral esp. with Dick DeVos running for governor.

14. A good man
He was (and is) a honest, straightforward man, not without ability. Given a more "interesting" time he might have even been a great president. I don't think there is anything to forgive about his pardoning Nixon. I was a devout Democrat and no Nixon-lover in 1974, but I think Ford saved the country from being hauled through Watergate again just as the Vietnam War came to its ignominious end. It took a lot of courage to pardon Nixon and it effectively ended Ford's political career as he probably knew it would.

15. Poor old Gerald
He will probably go down in history as the only man to become vice president and president without being elected into either position. He replaced Agnew and then Nixon. I felt very sorry for him when his wife contracted breast cancer while he was in office and also had her drinking problem to contend with. I didn't realize he was so old.
