Sen. George Allen's Statement on Macaca

Sen George Allen's Statement on Macaca
Here is a statement Sen. George Allen (R-VA) provided to CNN:

“I’m concerned that my comments at Breaks Interstate Park on August 11th have been greatly misunderstood by members of the media.
“In singling out the Webb campaign’s cameraman, I was trying to make the point that Jim Webb had never been to that part of Virginia – and I encouraged him to bring the tape back to Jim and welcome him to the real world of Virginia and America, outside the Beltway, where he has rarely visited. I also made up a nickname for the cameraman, which was in no way intended to be racially derogatory. Any insinuations to the contrary are completely false.

“Yesterday, I apologized to anyone who may have offended by the misinterpretation of my remarks. That was certainly not my intent. On every stop on my Listening Tour – I have talked about one of my missions for this country – to make it a land of opportunity for all. I have worked very hard in the Senate to reach out to all Americans - regardless of their race, religion, ethnicity or gender. And I look forward to continuing to advocate this important mission for America’s future.

“I never want to embarrass or demean anyone and I apologize if my comments offended this young man. Even though he has signed onto my opponent’s campaign, I look forward to seeing him on the trail ahead.

9. For him to claim that he didn't know the meaning of the word...
macaca is preposterous. If I publicly called someone a motherfuckin asshole and then later claimed I didn't know the meaning of those words, would that be okay?

Oh, okay Felix, you're not a racist, your just a moron. We forgive you. :freak:

17. That's exactly what the Virginian-Pilot said
in this morning's editorial, an "unapology" just enough to get his foot out of his mouth. Then they proceded to slam him

"Allen's initial explanation for calling Sidarth "Macaca" defies logic. His campaign says that he misspoke, and meant "mohawk" to describe Sindarth's haircut. Sidarth wasn't wearing a mohawk.

The word "macaca," in certain spheres, is an obscure racial slur; it also is associated with a monkey species that lives in northern Africa, and is the name of a South African town.

No one but the senator can possibly know what he meant by the word, but it certainly wasn't nice."

2. Cement-Head's Pinnochio nose grows very long whenever he speaks.
I didn't think much of Allen's racial remark and that wasn't close to an adult apology.

Go, Webb!

7. Macaque French slur to describe N. Africans.Allen's mom is French Tunisian
Ahhh, George Allen's America. Where the borders are secure and dark-complected Americans are derided as monkeys.

What did Allen mean? We now know that not only is 'macaque' a French language slur used to describe North Africans but Allen has a dizzyingly direct way of being familiar with the word. His mother is French Tunisian. Given that it would be amongst the French colonial population in North Africa that the word would have the greatest currency (even if only by familiarity rather than use), it seems close to impossible to believe that Allen didn't become familiar with the word growing up.

8. That's his story and he's stickin' to it....
I think virtually every sentence in that statement contains a lie. He has zero morals and zero conscience.

12. "I made up a nickname" doesn't pass the sniff test.
He may not recall where he heard that word but ther is no way he "made it up." Besides, he just changed his "story" because before he said he confused macaqua and mohawk. Which is it, Felix?

15. Allen has a history of racist remarks and actions.
I saw him interviewed about having Confederate flag in his office before he was a senator. This guy is a closet racist. The worst kind!
