GOP in SD having temper tantrum over Howard Dean's visit tomorrow.
They don't want him coming to their state. They are like little children who are not getting their way all the time. Let's see, over 400 in ND last week gave him a huge welcome, so maybe they are afraid he might get welcomed there in SD as well.

Brats having a temper tantrum.

GOP angry over upcoming Dean visit

PIERRE - The South Dakota Republican Party on Monday called on Representative Stephanie Herseth and the South Dakota Democrat Party to cancel their events on Wednesday with Democratic National Committee Chair Howard Dean, and to reject what the South Dakota Republican Party calls Dean's "outlandish and distasteful comments."

Dean will be in Rapid City on Wednesday for several fundraisers for the South Dakota Democrat Party.

"Mr. Dean has repeatedly made wild and baseless statements on everything from losing the war on terror to Republicans not making an honest living," said South Dakota Republican Party Executive Director Max Wetz.

But Stephanie Herseth's office was ready with a response, and good for them.

In response, a representative for Herseth's office contended that the Republican Party is merely skirting around the issue of Republican challenger Bruce Whalen's recent personal attacks on Herseth. Levsen said in response to the South Dakota Republican Party on Monday he was disappointed no response was forthcoming from the Whalen camp.

"I think it is ridiculous that Max Wetz ... and Bruce Whalen have all to date refused to comment on, apologize for, or even address the fact that Bruce Whelan's campaign knowingly circulated lies about Stephanie Herseth's personal life on the Internet," Levsen said. "They are trying to make a political attack by somehow connecting Stephanie to Howard Dean, and in doing so they are trying to change the subject from the dirty and unethical politics that Bruce Whelan has directly engaged in. I think it's ridiculous."

18. Don't you think?
That your sentence:

"and it DemocraTIC Party, not what the repukes alwayls say..."

When read by someone new to the game would not be able to know just what the hell you are saying? Shoot, I can only assume. Too, the spelling is so awful.

=====================

Now, where were we? Oh yeah..... Go Dr. Dean! Kick ass!

6. They don't want to hear what
Dean has to say so they don't want anyone to hear. Typical fascist rantings from the greedy, oily, polluters.

Glad to see Stephanie Herseth is not at their beck and call.

8. What the hell is it about guys named Whalen?
Edited on Tue Aug-15-06 11:34 AM by Bluzmann57
We have a guy named Mike Whalen running for Congress here in the First District in Iowa and he is another nasty republican. He is accusing his opponent, who is an attorney, of filing "baseless" lawsuits, although in the particular case he was referring to, a lady got needlessly injured and sued for not salting the sidewalk. Anyway, it must be the last name and the republican way. "We can't run on issues, so let's attack our opponents, even if it doesn't make any sense." I am going to try and find out if the two Whalen's are related to each other.
On edit- it does not appear that the Whalen's are related. They are just both nuts.

9. Looks like they used Wikipedia to spread rumors
about Herseth. No basis to any of it, I gather. All they know how to do is attack. Let me know if you find a connection between them.

10. More on the visit.
http://www.rapidcityjournal.com/articles/2006/08/13/news/local/news05.txt

"State Democratic Party Chairwoman Judy Olson Duhamel of Rapid City said Saturday that Dean is coming to western South Dakota to learn more about tribal issues and to energize party faithful heading toward the November general election.

“I’m just very excited that we’re able to bring Howard Dean to Rapid City and to South Dakota,” Olson Duhamel said Saturday. “He’s the kind of guy who infuses energy and optimism into any crowd. We felt it’s really a privilege to have him coming here.”

Olson Duhamel said Dean is committed to developing a better understanding of problems facing American Indians in South Dakota. That is an important part of his visit, she said."

..."Dean raised money to pay salaries totalling about $100,000 for three full-time Democratic staff members in the state through 2008 and possibly beyond. Olson Duhamel said that money and those staff members have helped bring more Democratic candidates into legislative races since the mid-1990s.

“He’s one of those people whose word is golden,” she said. “He has committed to support for every single state and that’s what he has done. We’ve been blessed to hire three people because he raised money for us to do so. And the Democratic Party in South Dakota is not wealthy, so that really helps us.”

11. Odd; is the SD GOP paying for the visit?
Because if they're not, they can kindly have a nice big steaming cup of shut the fuck up.

12. Um... since when do we take our orders from the state GOP, regarding
whom OUR state DEMOCRATIC party chooses to book for personal appearances, wetz?

Maybe this wetz guy is just afraid that Howard Dean's appearance will make him do that in his undies...

15. The ND Republicans sound like they own the state..and Dems have no rights.
It is just weird. They truly believe that Dean should not come near the state because they say so.

It is like the sense of entitlement that party has now.

17. I'm starting to believe that the correct Democratic response...
I'm starting to believe that the correct Democratic response
to practically anything any Republican says anywhere at any
time is simply:

"Fuck that lying shit."

It's short, pithy, and is phrased in language that Americans
everywhere can actually understand. And the double entent
would be amusing to the inteligentsia.
