"John Kerry Was Right"- George Will on "This Week"
"John Kerry as right when he said, and was soundly ridiculed, that the war on terror is primarliy an intelligence and police matter."

Can anyone link me to a story, other than a blog, that references this comment?

hate simple common sense as much as they hate facts, truth & reality.

"The War on terror is less of a military operation and far more of an intelligence-gathering and law enforcement operation." John Kerry

3. It was Kerry's position for years BEFORE 9-11, and if more DC lawmakers
had paid attention to terror and its funding networks the way Kerry has for the last twenty years, a 9-11 would NEVER have happened.

4. Kerry would have had us tracking the funding of
possible terror groups, and perhaps covertly conducting surveillance? I doubt that he will suggest that now given that he's staking out a position to the Left of Hillary.

7. Kerry submitted REAL terror-fund tracking/surveillance YEARS before 9-11.

Methinks you must be very unfamiliar with BCCI. Study up, and you'll be better able to grasp the REALITY of how terrorism NEEDS to be dealt with as opposed to Bush's authoritarian fascist version.

And the Clintons would not be anyone I would trust one way or another - it was Clinton who closed the books on BushInc when he took office, which allowed 9-11 to happen in the first place.

There isn't a lawmaker out there who knows and understands the real business of terrorism the way Kerry does - and that especially INCLUDES the Clintons. If they DID understand it, the books would never have been closed in the first place.

12. I Thinks so Too!
I don't know that BCCI is!

Truthfully I would have a great deal of interest in educating myself more on the subject if what you say is true. It will be hard to find the time but I would try to do so. Any links or websites that would be helpful?

15. BCCI
Here's a link to a short description of how Kerry stood against everyone in both parties to pursue closing BCCI once he found that it was used to launder drug money and was used to connect terrorists and to distribute their money. OBL had money there. In closing it, Kerry likely limited what OBL was able to do for several years. When his committe was taken away, he wrote a summary of what still needed to be done. Number 1 on the list dealt with more investigation of BCCI's funding of Pakistan's bomb by A.Q. Khan. There was a concern he might sell technology. Remember this was the early 90s - before Khan sold stuff or technology to North Korea and Iran! (Neither Bush or Clinton asked their justice departments to follow up on Kerry's work.)

8. It stands to reason, Bush ignored intelligence and consequent policing...
...and we got hit on 9/11.

Why some people think we're safer with him in the White House is beyond me...

10. That alone should be enough to impeach the SOB
Why no one has asked him what he was doing that day is criminal I would like to know his answer without the filtering of the WH Press Secretary, the WH press corps, the Corporate Media, and the "pundits" (ala media whores and GOP spokespersons). I would like for someone to ask him that question and for him to answer it himself, alone and with no help, and with follow-up questions as necessary.

14. Kerry was right. It is a police matter, not a military matter.
He was right then and he is right now.
