RE: "Giving in to terrorism"
The RW mouthpieces always say that we can't change foreign policy because that would be "giving in to terrorism" or that we are letting terrorists dictate to us.

My answer is that we change foreign policy because that is THE RIGHT THING TO DO.

It is irrelevant what terrorists say. If a terrorist says DON'T jump off a cliff does that mean you automatically SHOULD jump off a cliff?

Also isn't it funny that they forget that bin Laden's main demand was US troops out of Saudi Arabia amd then after 9/11 Bush did exactly that and removed American forces from the country?

And again if we should go against terrorist wishes why did bin Laden ENDORSE B*sh's policies in his November '04 videotape? (this section censored from the CNN transcript but shown on the full transcript on the al-Jazeera website):

"So we are continuing this policy in bleeding America to the point of bankruptcy...

That being said, those who say that al-Qaida has won against the administration in the White House or that the administration has lost in this war have not been precise, because when one scrutinises the results, one cannot say that al-Qaida is the sole factor in achieving those spectacular gains.

Rather, the policy of the White House that demands the opening of war fronts to keep busy their various corporations - whether they be working in the field of arms or oil or reconstruction - has helped al-Qaida to achieve these enormous results.

And so it has appeared to some analysts and diplomats that the White House and us are playing as one team towards the economic goals of the United States, even if the intentions differ."
