Down here in red-red coastal Alabama, incumbent repug congressman Jo (Josiah) Bonner is going for his third term against Democrat newcomer Vivian Beckerle.
I know her, and she is smart, well spoken, and good in front of a crowd.
Unfortunately, Bonner has incumbency on his side and can outspend her 100 to 1.
Anyway, I ran across this right wing opinion piece in the University of South Alabama's student newspaper. Oh yeah, Bonner's "public affairs" program is nothing more than a 30 minute free repug TV commercial every Sunday morning.

In a time when Mobile is in dire need of a public affairs program to engage the community after a low voter turn out in this month's primaries, the irrelevant loyal opposition has caused Rep. Jo Bonner's weekly television show to cease for the time being under the guise of equal time.
Alabama Congressional District 1 Democrat-nominee Vivian Beckerle recently protested Bonner's weekly WKRG-TV 5 program "The Congressional Report" and caused it to cease until Bonner soundly defeats Beckerle in the upcoming mid-term elections.
I am sure Beckerle is a very nice person. That is not the trait in question. Forget the fact that she and her supporters regularly try to crash Bonner's appearances, including a recent University of South Alabama College Republicans meeting. During the question and answer session of Bonner's presentation, Beckerle misused the forum and tried to force Bonner to sign some sort of peculiar pledge. This was not the time nor the place for that; however, I am willing to overlook that juvenile behavior. We all screw up sometimes. You can read it all here:
