Santorum gets little notice at some campaign stops
http://www.pennlive.com/news/patriotnews/index.ssf?/base/news/1155521403264100.xml&coll=1

Cow Pie Snippets:

"..Except for a brief event in a barn, where Santorum spoke about agriculture policy surrounded by dairy cows chomping on hay and several supportive farmers, the senator drew little attention.."

"..He's a good man," the magician said after performing a rope trick for an audience of elementary school and preschool children and their parents."

".. that it was missed by all but at most the two dozen people, mostly children, in the audience.

..."Ok, this isn't funny anymore --- where the Hell is everybody?"

Meanwhile, on the other end of town....

Casey stumps at local picnic
Centre Daily Times
Sunday, August 13, 2006
http://www.centredaily.com/mld/centredaily/15262236.htm

Between bus stops on his "New Direction Tour" in Lewistown and the Clinton County Fair in Mackeyville, Casey spent more than two hours in the midst of the Rudy farm cornfields, calling Santorum a "rubber stamp machine" for President Bush.

Casey said Santorum, rather than asking "tough questions" about effective body armor for troops and troop strength in general in Iraq, has instead questioned the press, in particular the attention the media give to the number of U.S. casualties.

"He (Santorum) was worried that the president wasn't getting good press on Iraq, that they weren't reporting the war in the right way," Casey said. "I don't really give a damn about whether or not George Bush has a good press day on Iraq. I care about supporting the troops."

BTW ----->>> SOMETHING TO CONSIDER...

One of those articles notes that EVERY poll in PA has Casey with a double-digit lead over Santorum except for ONE poll that was released by Muhlenberg College.

The media and the blogs have been focusing on that one poll.

Pretty amazing how a single poll, even though it differs significantly from all other polls is the only one that keeps making news..

But, I will have to explore Muhlenberg College. And Casey looks better than Colin Farrell on a good day? Is that him (clueless in TX here)?

6. Yeah.. I was hoping one of our Pennsylvania DU'ers could....
..tell us about Muhlenberg College.

It's just nuts how different their numbers are than any other poll conducted to date.

13. When my DH played football in college, he played Muhlenberg. It was in
the MAC. Hub played for Delaware Valley College. Moravian and Juniata were in the conference, can't remember who else. It's Division III, I think.

santorum was mentioning a compare/contrast broadcast by rush limbaugh in which oxy-rush pointed out the differences between santorum/casey

santorum told the crown his campaign would be putting out commericals along the same lines..

heh - so now santorum supports drug addicts...as long as they are sputtering extremist right-wingers?

15. Here in SW PA
Santorum is bombarding TV and radio with really negative ads. I don't know if that's what is behind the narrowing in the poll numbers or if it is an anomaly. But Santorum has about twice as much campaign cash on hand as Casey, so the negative ads will continue at a disgusting rate. Apparently, being a political whore pays well. Special interest groups just LOVE Ricky-boy.

18. The people of Pennsylvania should be ashamed of themselves!
They shouldn't miss an opportunity to meet Santorum, it's not like he lives there or is even in the state all that often.

19. Hey. The cow vote is a hotly-contested demographic. If you carry the
cow vote, you carry the Keystone State.

___________

Well, Santorum isn't looking very good, and he usually looks horrible. That campaign is struggling. While I'd prefer that Casey be pro-choice, I'll take him over cow-pandering Santorum any day of the week, and especially for the next 6 years in the U.S. Senate.

Go, Democrats.
