Stop with the nonsense already. Ct. was never a 'safe' seat,

not six days ago, not six weeks ago, not six months ago.

It was never safe as long as 3rd Party Wacko Joe was telling us to shut up and sit down.

It was never safe as long as 3rd Party Wacko Joe was playing tonsil hockey with *.

It was never safe as long as 3rd Party Wacko Joe was leading the impeachment charge against WJC from OUR side of the aisle.

It was never safe as long as 3rd Party Wacko Joe was stabbing Al Gore in the back.

It was never safe as long as 3rd Party Wacko Joe is sitting on Hannity's lap tossing nasty sneers toward Alan Colmes.

Once again, please stop with the nonsense.

This is DemocraticUnderground, and Ned Lamont is the only Democrat running for Senate in Ct.

1. Well said. If it were not true, we would not see the Repukes so sad
at Lamont's victory. We will have to watch VERY carefully to see what dirty tricks they try to pull in CT to try to get 3rd Party Wacko Joe back into the Senate and back on Bush's lap.

4. For better or worse, Al Gore has stayed out of the CT race.
Edited on Sun Aug-13-06 08:15 PM by Eric J in MN
After Gore endorsed Howard Dean, there was blather about how he betrayed Lieberman, and maybe Gore doesn't want more of that.

7. It's sad that a post like this needs to be made at DU at all.
People are getting attacked and called names here on DU, simply for supporting a Democratic party nominee for public office. Unfuckingbelievable.:eyes:

If only they would start enforcing the rules around here.

8. I know, It is odd.
It would be one thing for a well spoken well thought of conservative democrat to raise salient points about the Ct. race and it's implications nationwide, but allowing posters of such dubious nature to attack the the only Democrat running in Ct. and all of his Democratic supporters here is another thing entirely.

10. I've seen endless posts calling DUer supporters
of Democratic candidates "Lamonties". In my experience, this is the first time that it has been permitted to use a derogatory term like that to refer to an entire group of DUers.

I had really been looking forward to the end of this race, just so the rules would kick in. Then they don't, and I keep seeing the same old crap. Wish I understood what was going on.

The old FAR LEFT is thrown in there in just about every post as well.

BTW, not only is this is the first time that it has been permitted to use a derogatory term like that to refer to an entire group of DUers, It is also an attack on the majority of Hard Core true Democrats in Ct and across this nation who are backing the ONLY DEMOCRAT running for Senate in Ct.

I do wonder though....Is Hillary a FAR LEFT Lamontie?

19. The people have reached critical mass.
They were able to overcome the entrenched
party system that enabled Lieberman to vote
against the best interest of Americans.

The whole world is sitting up and taking
notice.

I hope we're not too late.

And I hope certain groups within
our own party won't play into
the 'puke's hands just to hang onto
their own fiefdoms.

Good on ya, Lincoln!

26. Stop pro-Lieberman Kinky Friedman's out-of-Texas $ from Democrats
Some ill-informed Democrats (lots of them out of state, but unfortunately some of them here at DU) are sending money to Kinky Friedman's campaign because they think it's funny that we have a Jesse Ventura/Arnold Schwarzenegger-type moron fucking up the governor's race here in Texas.

Please help put a stop to that crap, but it's not funny for us down here in Texas.

Kinky is a big supporter of this new Zell Lieberman. On Joe Scarborough's show this week, Kinky praised Lieberman for leaving the Democratic Party, and Kinky suggested liberals were anti-American:

SCARBOROUGH: Hey, Kinky, could the argument be that both parties are extreme, vote for the new independent?

FRIEDMAN: That could certainly be. I think the mood of the country is really, really independent. I mean, I think the winds of change are really blowing right now. And all the—the way I see Lieberman, he's very—he's pro-America, unashamedly, and he's pro-Israel. And these liberals are not.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14285602

This bullshit echoes Kinky's support for Bush:

Question: So does this idea of the honorable cowboy have anything to do with why you threw your support behind President Bush in this last election? You did, didn’t you?
Kinky: Yes. I did in this last election, but I didn’t vote for him the first time.
Question: Who did you vote for in 2000?
Kinky: I voted for Gore then. I was conflicted. . .but I was not for Bush that time. Since then, though, we’ve become friends. And that’s what’s changed things.
Question: So it’s your friendship with him that’s changed your mind about having him as president more than his specific political positions?
Kinky: Well, actually, I agree with most of his political positions overseas, his foreign policy. On domestic issues, I’m more in line with the Democrats. I basically think he played a poor hand well after September 11. What he’s been doing in the Near East and in the Middle East, he’s handling that well, I think.

http://www.ruminator.com/content/040501.html (please also bear in mind that Kinky's claim to have voted for Gore in 2000 is a straight-up lie because Kinky's voting records confirm Kinky didn't vote in any elections for at least a decade before his vote for Bush in 2004. http://www.kristv.com/Global/story.asp?S=4517585).

Please help us shut this clown down in Texas: next time you hear some Democrat expressing interest in Kinky, please slap them.

Support should now go solely to Lamont in CT from the DUer's. Normally we would not be debating this after a primary. But because Lieberman has turned tail & formed a new party we have to be debating this.
