Mehlman blamed his not supporting Schlesinger...
On local Republicans in Conn.

Is it true the local Conn. Republicans asked the RNC to ignore the Senatorial candidate?

Wow. I guess Liebermann is that important to the neocon agenda.

I hope the Democrats in Conn push that point.

1. Wow...
One would think that, if anything, the split between Democrats would help the Republican.

2. The local Republicans..
Gov. Jodi Rell and the head of the Republican party, Joseph Gallo, have both asked Schlesinger to step aside after the casino gambling story came out. Supposedly Orchulli, who went up against Chris Dodd last time has been courted to take Schlesinger's place. But in order for him to do that, Schlesinger has to drop out. They can't make him.

3. Oh so suddenly the rethugs are shy.
They had to be dragged kicking and screaming about Delay and Ney.

But Schlesinger is an embarrassment?

They really are reaching in their support for Liebermann.
