Here's why I boycott CNN
Headline News Anchor: ‘Might Some Argue That Lamont…Is The al Qaeda Candidate?’
Today on CNN Headline News, anchor Chuck Roberts discussed the impact of the foiled British terror plot with Hotline senior editor John Mercurio. Roberts asked Mercurio, “How does this factor into the Lieberman/Lamont contest? And might some argue, as some have, that Lamont is the al Qaeda candidate?”

2. CNN's phone number
CNN's number is 404 827 1700.

Call them. We need to call them on this kind of crap.

I'm with you; I don't watch them. Ever. But that doesn't stop me from complaining when I hear that they pull crap like this.

3. That is smearing.. If I was Lamont, I would sue every news outlet
for suggesting that he is al Queda Candidate. It is over the top. Defamation suit... of course, he won't because it would be even worse if he filed suit. But who in the hell put that stupid idea in the heads of MSM? If your not with us you aren't American... that's the biggest bullshit line I've ever heard. Dissent is what makes America strong. Please, wake up America.

18. So would I - very loudly and publicly and with a vengeance.
I'd hire the meanest most successful defamation attorney to do it too. And if I were a mean successful defamation attorney I'd do it for him pro bono.

12. They had that "Spying on your Neighbors" report on CNN this a.m. and
it made me want to :puke: There was a time in America when no one would have thought to put some kind of fascist crap like that on the airwaves.

CNN and MSNBC have gone beyond any limits in the last few months. Just when one thinks they can't get any worse they exceed the worst.

What the hell is going on out there? And, why isn't there more outrage. I got tired of complaining and they don't even listen to their OWN POLLS of viewers.

7. B*sh is the Bin Laden candidate:
"So we are continuing this policy in bleeding America to the point of bankruptcy...

That being said, those who say that al-Qaida has won against the administration in the White House or that the administration has lost in this war have not been precise, because when one scrutinises the results, one cannot say that al-Qaida is the sole factor in achieving those spectacular gains.

Rather, the policy of the White House that demands the opening of war fronts to keep busy their various corporations - whether they be working in the field of arms or oil or reconstruction - has helped al-Qaida to achieve these enormous results.

And so it has appeared to some analysts and diplomats that the White House and us are playing as one team towards the economic goals of the United States, even if the intentions differ."

That section (and others) from Bin Laden's November '04 videotape were censored by CNN, but are shown on the (uncensored) al-Jazeera transcript:

that goes for lieberwhingingman, too. They and the rest of the neoCONS have helped bin laden immeasureably for the recruitment of Terrorists.

They're so damn stupid they thought they would be "throwing flowers' and "building statues of them within the year",

8. RESPOND TO CNN
Got this info from another thread on DU:

EVERY TIME we see this, we MUST respond. Do not let them get away with it. The only contact info I could find for Chuck Roberts (and it was a quick and dirty search) was a generic feedback form. http://www.cnn.com/feedback/forms/form1.html?33

Something along the lines of "It is the most irresponsible form of journalism to compare a nominee for the United States Senate with an outlaw terrorist organization. I insist that you stop such vile remarks immediately. I will forward this message to your sponsors."

Here's Chuck Roberts feedback form: http://www.cnn.com/feedback/forms/form4b.html?76

Send the email to both.

9. Here's what I sent Chucky
"Time for you to resign Chuck. And turn in your journalism diploma. You personally injected into an interview the notion that Lamont might be considered the Al Qaida candidate???? Apologize to Lamont for your slimey defamation of him. Apologize to CNN viewers for your unprofessional and vile behavior. Leave the airways, go back to school and study ethics and integrity. Look for a way to make amends for such heinous verbal crimes."

Damn, I wish American TV viewers had at least enough discernment to know when their thoughts are being manipulated. How long has it been since "journalists" actually objectively delivered simply the news??

16. Here's the feedback I sent to CNN
So the "Swiftboating" of Ned Lamont begins. You stated, "Might some argue, as some have, that he is The Al Qaida Candidate." Give us a break! Whatever happened to journalistic principles of reporting facts? Some might argue, as some have, that your partisanship is transparent and appalling. You owe Ned Lamont an apology.

19. I'm going to go against the grain of some of the comments made...
Edited on Sat Aug-12-06 02:48 PM by Iowa
...in this thread about firing off written reprimands to CNN. I would think twice before writing to express outrage to any ass-wipe news organization like CNN. They don't care what you think - they only care that you ARE WATCHING. If you want them to cease, quit watching them. And for God's sake, don't write and tell them you are watching. And don't post a summary of their poison online - it only increases the buzz.

Let's all do whatever we can to make them irrelevant. And the best way to make them irrelevant is to do nothing. Don't watch. Don't talk about what they say. Don't go to their web-site. Don't wrote letters. Don't rehash their crap online. Sometimes the most effective action is NO action.

21. I agree. Boycotting them and their advertisers is
the only thing that works. I cancelled them months ago and don't miss them at all. But there needs to be a massive cancellation, even for one month, to make any kind of impact.

Writing to them only makes them realize that people are still watching and that controversy sells. When writing it's best to let them know you plan to boycott or join any boycott on their advertisers if you want to have an effect. Otherwise I have a feeling they do not even read the letters. This is why they ask 'positive' or 'negative'. If the number of positives is fewer they learn that positive gets fewer viewers. I think they just count them all up and don't even read them.

That's my opinion anyway after writing letter after to them. Have they once responded to a single letter? Best thing is to dismiss them they way they dismiss us and turn them off, it's the only way to get their attention, imo.

No way. That's what put us in the minority. You don't have to watch CNN to send them your opinion via e-mail. We have to let them know that we are not all a bunch of Bush-Sheep.

23. I woke up from the 2002 elections
on Wednesday, Nov 6th and cancelled my cable news..I felt they had a direct hand in the way the races turned out. And they were just going to fire Phil Donahue or already had(sorry I don't remember his exact departure date).

I could not believe the propoganda spewing forth and this was in 2002!

I'm shocked now that some bad news about the bushits is getting out. They must really hate that at the top eschelon of cnn..bottom line and all that(you fucking cowards).
