"Good" Muslims, raise your hand. "Bad" Muslims, take your seats?
Tucker "I lost my bowtie and think I've gained credibility even though I am STILL a total fucking worthless P.O.S. TOOL" Carlson is ATTEMPTING (on her MSNBC show, LIVE, right now) to differentiate between "evil" Muslims (those who want to fly planes into our national landmarks) and "I-LOVE-those-regular Muslims-Next-Door" (those who don't want to fly planes into shit and fuck 75 virgins in Valhalla for being martyrs with a hard-on)...

IT'S NOT THAT SIMPLE.

YES, we are being CORNHOLED by "radical Muslim extremists." Osama bin BITCHMOTHERFU**KER orchestrated 9-11. 3000+ people DIED, and the bitch continues to make mix tapes from his fucking CAVE.

IT'S...NOT...THAT...SIMPLE.

PROBLEM IS, they live in fucking MICHIGAN and ELSEWHERE.

Maybe the answer is for Tucker to SHUT HER FUCKING MOUTH.

What do YOU say?

1. I'm not sure I understand you
This Carlson fellow said that there is a difference between Muslim terrorists and other terrorists, is that correct?

Then you say it isn't that simple-I assume you mean there are degrees of support for terrorism in the worldwide Islamic community.

You are then saying, I guess (your terms aren't ones I'm familiar with) that the terrorists are fornicating with us-I'm assuming with our minds, making us all scared, etc, etc.

Again you say the issue isn't clear cut-and then you say "they" live in Michigan and elsewhere (I'm assuming again you mean other parts of the US). This is the part I'm really unclear about. Are you saying that Muslim terrorists live in Michigan and elsewhere in the US?

Please let me know if I have understood your post. If not, please clarify where I have misunderstood. Then I will be glad to give you my opinion of the situation.

2. You're right, I left some details out.
He's basically questioning if people need to "declare their intentions"...

And since the current profile of "terrorists," whether it is fair or unfair, points to Muslims, he's questioning whether Muslims (American-born, here on Visas, here illegally) should be asked if they're planning to blow anything up.

Short version: You look like you might be of Arabic descent, are you a member of Al Quaeda?

Now, I understand that attack after attack after attack (and bin Laden tape after tape after tape) leads to beard-phobia, but this smacks of the Japanese internment camps.

I've also heard the line of reasoning that calls for Muslims to "police their own" (supposedly the intelligence on the recent arrests in England came from a member of the Muslim community).

I just am having a hard time seeing the line between "fairness" and "racism."

Yes, Timothy McVeigh was responsible for the Oklahoma City bombings. No, none of the 19 9-11 hijackers were named "Todd" or "Chuck."

What's the "right thing to do?"

3. Ah! Thank you for clarifying
I am always amused at what the general American public classify as "Muslim"-brown skin, beards, maybe turbans-especially since my order is one that was founded in the West, has Westerners as a majority of adhereants, and, like most Sufi orders I'm acquainted with, has nothing to do with politics or prosletyzing.

As you said, it is far more complex than what people like Tucker make things out to be! To insist that Muslims "police their own" is implying that there are only two or three leaders for all Islam that all Muslims obey, which is not the case. As I have experienced it, Islam (at least the Sufi version) gives you the freedom and power to do what you wish with your life, and you don't have to obey any edict from anyone for fear of being "excummunicated" or anything like that. Mosques are independent, with boards who decide what is done with the building, hiring a scholar, having classes, etc.

The thing to remember is that Islam, like all religions, is really an attempt to explain Reality to the seeker of Truth. And the closer one gets to that Truth, the more one realizes that dogma isn't needed, that all paths do indeed, reach the eternal goal. For that reason alone, I would suggest to anyone who watches this chap on television to know that he is merely playing a role-a role as a salesman of an idea. You can choose not to accept the idea he offers, and you can also choose to explain to those who would buy into his simplistic illusion that the situation is far more complex, the answer to the problem far more esoteric than Tucker would have you believe.

5. Thank you for the reply...
...and I agree with your observation that "he is merely playing a role-a role as a salesman of an idea."

The idea, unfortunately, is a dangerous one, and the casual ease with which he presented it caused me to react in a very immediate and negative manner (as I'm sure you could tell).

6. Yes I could
:)

Perhaps one thing to consider when confronted with things such as this is to acknowledge its existance and move on; a negative reaction gives such ideas energy....but realize also I'm listening to a lot of Eckhardt Tolle right now, and about the shift in consciousness, so I'm not sure I'm making sense.

11. some recent poll said 40% of americans approved of special id for muslims
at a press conference the other day following the 'discovery' of the airline plot, the FIRST question was some malarky that went something like, 'do you feel the muslim community is doing enough...'

4. 19 hijackers out of 1.5 billion muslims.
Plus 9/11 didn't need to happen. It was facilitated by the B*sh administration.

7. I read
I read that 3 of the suspects in custody were not Arabian, Middle Eastern or Asian in descent but rather were British. They had converted to Islam in the las few years.

8. Umm...I don't think OBL made those tapes and he very likely didn't do 9-11
You need to focus on the really bad dudes in your own GOVERNMENT. And you also need to learn to respect women.
