Kerry Spokesman David Wade Responds to RNC Attacks: Americans Paying the Price for Republican Misdirection
August 10th, 2006 @ 3:45 pm

Ken Mehlman went on the attack today against Senator’s John Kerry and Harry Reid for their comments on the failed policies of the Bush administration’s “War on Terror” today, in the wake of the terrorist plot thwarted in the U.K.. In a statement on the thwarted terrorist plot, John Kerry said earlier today:

“Nearly five years after the attacks of 9/11, we are not as safe as we can and must be. Osama bin Laden is still on the loose. The 9/11 Commission’s recommendations to secure our most vulnerable infrastructure remain virtually ignored. And, homeland security funding has been cut for cities like Boston and New York.

“It’s clear that staying the current course in Iraq is not making the American people any safer at home or abroad, and has hurt our fight in the war on terror. We need to put the focus back where it belongs, and make America as safe as it can and must be.”

Issuing a verbal slap down to Mehlman, John Kerry’s spokesman, David Wade made the following statement this afternoon in response to the attacks by RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman:

“Ken Mehlman’s command of the facts is about as real as the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Americans are sick and tired of Ken Mehlman, Karl Rove, and the masters of misdirection who got us bogged down in Iraq with no end in sight, and who have failed to kill Osama bin Laden. If these Republicans were half as good at fighting the war on terror as they are at misleading the American public, we’d be a lot safer than we are today. The day of reckoning for their failed policies is November 12th 2006, and only then will we begin to have leadership that knows how to make America safe.”

14. Decent, but I'd have thrown the ball back to them, thusly....
Could George Bush please explain how bombing Iraq for 3 years, taking 20,000 casualties, spending over $300 billion and placing American troops between 2 factions in a civil war, assist in today's arrest of the terrorist in the UK?

2. Sorry to be a nitpicker
But it's November 7th.

Sorry, but don't want people showing up to vote five days later by mistake :)

5. Very Concise but Well Put ... Yes, by George, we've got it!
Kudos to Kerry Spokesman David Wade for giving us a clear message that all of the Democratic Party can EMBRACE.

Even more succinct is the following:

Bullshit! Stop the disinformation and fear mongering more failed Executive Branch policy ... you evil morAns! :(

12. That's no excuse to give up The Ship, dear msongs
The M$M TV news outlets are becoming close to irrelevant thanks to some truly shitty programing.

The Average American has NO RESPECT for This Congress nor The Executive Branch.

Therefore, now is the time to pull out all the stops on "reaching out" to the non-Internet savvy masses. That can only be done by working with your local Democratic Party ... phone calls and shoe leather because THE PEOPLE don't trust the Media ... we have a chance to turn this thing around, even without the support of the Corporate and War Profiteering WHORES in the M$M. :hi:

9. It's a start
Kerry should also add how pathetic it is that the RNC seems to welcome these terrorist attempts as a means to play divisive politics.

WHy do the Republicans seem so thrilled with terror plots? Is that all they've got? They are hoping for things that go bump in the night because running on fear is all they've got.

16. David Wade is becoming one of my favorite people.
This classic from him will be on my Top Ten Smackdowns of 2006 list:

"The closest Karl Rove ever came to combat," said Kerry spokesman David Wade, "was these last months spent worrying his cellmates might rough him up in prison. This porcine political operative can't cut and run from the truth any longer."

Wade continued: "When it came to Iraq, this Administration chose to cut and run from sound intelligence and good diplomacy, cut and run from the best military advice, cut and run from their responsibility to give our troops body armor, and in November Americans will cut and run from this Republican Congress."

Something about "Limbaugh should pick up a history book instead of a donut"

It was PRICELESS!
