Can Lieberman campaign use the label democrat or democratic?

I was wondering if CT. state election laws prevent old Joe from using the label Democrat or Democratic in campaign literature, on his web site or on posters?

I believe any reference to him being a Democrat is not allowed but nothing can be done about using the word "democratic" in a context other than reference to the Party.

But I'm not a lawyer.

3. I have a question that I can't get an answer to.

If Joe wins as an Independent, he's hurting Democrats' chances for a senate majority, right? So any Democrat who officially supports Joe is also supporting the status quo? This is not sarcasm, but a genuine question. I don't understand the rules about running as an Independent. I just assume that you can't have it both ways, but I've been wrong about that before. Please help.

He had to form a new party - CT for Lieberman - or something like that.

I believe he said he'd caucus with the Dems and vote with them for Leader but who knows?

He really shot himself in the foot, though, when he thumbed his nose at the primary process (sorry about the metaphors.) The key test will be whether he's able to raise money. I fear he'll get money from key GOP donors, though.

In other words, from now on, if you lose your party's primary you can just take another shot at it by running as an Independent in the general election?
