Has Bill Clinton come out in support of Indy Joe?
I apologize if this has been covered. I read this on a predominately
right wing message board just a couple minutes ago.

Any links to disprove would be greatly appreciate. :hi:

10. If you are going to say that Lamont is a Republican plant
you better use the :sarcasm: smilie or else people are going to think that you really meant to say that shit, in which case you better put your flame suit on.

3. He and Hillary both stated publicly before the primary that they would
support the Dem nominee, no matter who it was. And they are sticking to that.

"Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, who had backed Mr. Lieberman in the primary, said she had donated $5,000 to Mr. Lamont’s campaign and suggested she was prepared to campaign with him. Former President Bill Clinton, whose campaign appearance with Mr. Lieberman was described by the senator as an emotional turning-point his campaign, issued his statement affirming his support for the Democratic nominee."

8. What bothers me the most about this issue
is that none/very few of the important Dems are telling Joe not to run as a Ind. I don't understand why they are so reticent to do so publicly.

9. Oh, but what if he wins??
By not coming out against him, they can remain "friends" (as in the political definition of it).

Please don't get me wrong - I'm not really blaming them for that. It's the way of politics. The reason I'd never make it more than a day as a politician.

That said, I'd really be so proud and supportive of any Dem who had the guts to say it!!

12. Actually, I think the fact that so many...
...have immediately come out and endorsed Lamont basically sends the same message.

If leading Democrats had held their silence on the results, one might think that they had decided to sit this one out, not willing to criticize the Democratic nominee, but secretly hoping that Leiberman would win. But that is exactly what did not happen, with even a centrist and Lieberman ally like Evan Bayh endorsing Lamont almost as soon as the votes were counted.

By now, it should be clear to Lieberman that "if you run, you run alone."

16. good it be that Bill & others are trying to use a little ...

...'quite diplomacy'at this point? Public grandstanding may be what would make YOU happy, but it's not always the best thing when dealing with an ego the size of Lieberman's.
